PM Modi and Advisor to US President Donald Trump Ivanka Trump inaugurated the 8th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Addressing the opening ceremony Ivanka Trump praised Modi for his leadership and said, “What you are achieving here is truly extraordinary, from your childhood selling tea to your election as India’s Prime Minister, you’ve proven that transformational change is possible.” Ivanka highlighted the support of US administration under Trump to India and said that India has a true friend in the White House.

PM Modi who inaugurated the event by launching the GES logo on indigenously developed robot Mitra said, “The theme, ‘women first, prosperity for all’ makes this edition of GSE stand out. In Indian mythology, woman is an incarnation of Shakti- the Goddess of power, we believe women empowerment is vital to our development.”
Modi went on to add, “Indian women continue to lead in different walks of life. Our space programmes, including the Mars Orbiter Mission, have had an immense contribution from women scientists. Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams, both of Indian origin, have been part of US space missions.”
Ivanka, who is leading a high-level delegation of American women entrepreneurs, was scheduled to stay at Westin but the venue was changed at the last minute. She will now be staying at The Trident. Ivanka will also attend a dinner hosted by the prime minister at the Taj Falaknuma Palace.
