Lunch in Japan is inexpensive, amazing, and delicious.

The menu! Beef and Pork Shyabu Shyabu. This is the dinner menu but I went at lunch and had a lunch special. The cost was 1000 yen or about 9 U.S. Dollars. The value was fantastic and I have been coming back ever since.

Here it is. Thinly shaved pork, a box of cut veggies including bok choy cabbage, greens, seaweed, tofu, udon noodles and bean sprouts. The dip or sauce is freshly ground sesame which they make in house and is incredible! I added powdered hot peppers and grated garlic puree. A copper pot just for you is bubbling away and waiting for all the fresh healthy ingredients. Just lightly dip and Shyabu Shyabu (sweep back and forth) a few times. The pork is so thin it cooks almost immediately then is dunked in the sesame sauce and eaten. The flavor sensation is like nothing else. You have got to try it even if you aren't a foody!

Sorry for the potato quality! From the outside of the restaurant you can see a massive mixer constantly churning the in house signature sesame dressing that you dip the pork and veggies into! If you are ever in Osaka it is a must stop by for lunch and near the Hilton Hotel in Umeda, Osaka. I get to eat out a lot because of my job, so if you have any requests I can go!

That looks fantastic! Im planning a trip to Tokyo for the 2020 Olympics. I'll try hard to eat my way through the country! 🇯🇵

As long as you're only watching the olympics, you can eat your way through Japan and achieve some kind of goal!
