Today, I did something I never thought I'd do

in #jobsearch7 days ago

I withdrew a job application.

I found a post on Indeed that matched my skillset. Good pay, exactly what I needed to further my career, 100% remote, 12 months with possibility for extension, this checked every box I needed. It was posted via a recruiting firm on behalf of the employer. Nothing out of the ordinary, this is pretty standard fare these days. I submitted my resume, got the confirmation email, great. I got a call back from a "virtual recruiter" about 20 minutes later, then an email. Virtual recruiter? As in, this staffing company replaced all their recruiters with AI?

I couldn't do it. There are places for AI assistants. Replacing your staff is NOT one of them. I withdrew my application. This recruiting firm earned a block from me. I will not work with companies that actively harm their own employees.
