Why
Taken on 8-6-2019 by me. Well every post needs a picture, okay well not every post, however I like having a picture on all of my post so that there is something to catch the fly-by post scroller's attention. So why did I make a community of one? My own little place to post, and I guess others if they so desire. Well as the admin/owner and my understanding of the way communities work, (which is a very very limited understanding), is that no one individual or group of individuals can make my post invisible in my own community. Other than that I really am not sure why I made one, and that reasoning is a rather limited one. So now that is out of the way.
A few of the other communities that I have joined:
- Feathered Friends / hive-106444 / Run by @melinda010100. I like looking at the birds from around the world, and seeing reading about other peoples trial and tribulations of trying to get that clear in focus perfect shot of the elusive fly what not, the Scourge of their bird photography trial. For me it was the Canadian Goose. (I still have not gotten a good picture of one).
- Music / hive-193816 / Run by @uwelang. I like finding on occassion different stuff to listen to, or being reminded of great tunes from the past, and of learning about the musicians of steemit. (they should all get together and do a we are the steemians song/post)
- Shadow Hunters / hive-179017 / by @melinda010100 her Shadow Contest, I like the work a lot of the people put into making that stand above the rest shadows. If you have never taken a look at any of the entries you are missing out on a lot of talented snapshotist.
- Excel For All / hive-102332 / Created and run by @paulag. I don't do a lot of spreadsheet excel type stuff, but it is nice having a place that if I do run into an issue trying to do something on my tracking spreadsheets I have a place to go and look for help.
- Creative Coin / hive-179541 Run by @isaria. I like the scot-tribe, and while there may not be much in the community right now, when communities leave beta and more individuals adopt communities I think this will become as the scot-tribe and be a very happening place.
- Tabletop Roleplaying / hive-194041 / By @lextenebris, we all have our little niche things that we like and enjoy, I did like playing D&D's a long long time ago, I am currently enjoying a simple steemit zombie game. I hope the community takes off and a few others join and get a table top style replacement going on steem, not sure if it will translate to steem, but then again it may be the next wave, time will tell.
- Photography Lovers / hive-194913 / By @derangedvisions, I like photography, the taking of staged shots, the snap shot the talking about the shot, pretty much all aspects of photography, I am a long long way from even remotely thinking of myself as an amateur, but I am a very happy photo hobbyist.
- Science Fiction / hive-122598 / By @distantsignal, I enjoy all types of science fiction, movies, reading, and art works. A central place to talk about thought provoking subjects, movies, art or other forms of science fiction is a win for me.
I was going to list my top ten, (wow, out of a total of 14 I currently joined), but end of the year top ten list are just so old school, besides I did read some where some when in time that eight is the number of money, I don't know if it was true is true or just one more aspect added to the lore of the number eight, So those were are my current favorite 8. I seem to recall a movie with an eight brand, I like the movie, many did not like the movie, but the movie was the The Postman, kind of fits in with the last community topic I mentioned rather fitting I think.
Okay, alright, here is my own little community:
name: Just Because / hive-185849 - Just because I could make it I guess, I'll figure it out down the road.
And here is the link to my community. Nothing there yet on the page, I currently imagine that it will be mostly re-blogs, or votes, just not sure how active I want to get in on the community owning/running side of things. I guess we will know at the end of 2020 if I was able or did anything with the account.
Okay two posting options, one that says [post to blog] and then the normal one that on hover says post as bashadow, so Just Because I want to know what happens I am going to pick the [Post to blog] option. I hope it shows up in my feed and the feed of those that follow my bashadow account. Someone let me know in the remarks/comments if it did show up in your feed. Okay so I clicked the [Post to blog] and it changed it to [Post to Community] so not sure if it posted or not. So here we go with another button push, hoping I do not post a couple of different version of this.
Okay I don't think it changed anything so I am going to click the [Post to blog] and make it [Post to Community] then click the Big Black Boxed Post button, and see what happens.

Okay, I guess something did not work right. I had my community hive tag hive-185849 as the first tag, somewhere along the line rather than posting in the community, (I did not see it there), something went amiss. I guess I need to try to do another post and this time leave it as post to blog and see what happens.
So on the second try, I left it as [Post to blog], that posted it to the community, I'll have to try posting in one of the other communities and see how that works, if I need to leave it as [Post to blog] or change it to the community, that will happen later.
We are all getting Communities figured out together! My hope is that if the #featheredfriends community gains enough active members that we will be able to attract sponsors who want to target birdwatchers and we can provide members with bigger rewards.
I am not sure what I am going to do with mine if anything, pretty much use it as a personal backup I guess, have to wait and see where they go with communities. And yes it is a learning experience so far.
I get what you mean with that picture thing. Hell, even half my reply/comments will have pictures....
Rest assured, I will never down vote anyone without an explanation/name tag/screenshot/etc.
Not sure if We will join any "C̶U̶L̶T̶S̶... er...uhhm... Communities".....lol.
Gonna have to find more time for this Steemin', great content posters like You that get it, make Me want to be here. But for now I will just do a lil here and there.
I think there are a lot of us just doing a little here and there, I have always just been a here and there person most of my time on steem block chain, I think I have the once a day for a week badge one time, maybe 1 time also for 4 in a day thing, but that was a long time ago when I was trying to still figure steem out, (still have not figured it out much).
I understand the down votes for reasons, I have no issue about the real down votes, the rain on a persons parade down votes, meaningless and useless are not healthy for any system that wants to retain users and creators.
The most disingenuous response to cammillsteemers bot army is It's thier stake they can do as they like with it. No it is not their stake it is @steem's stake and that makes all the down votes @steem down votes in my book, since they do not remove their delegation. it is the same as one person handing out a bunch of guns to the gang members in any city and a box of bullets to go with it, and then claiming I did not kill all those people the gang members killed with the guns and bullets I gave them. They may not have pulled the trigger, but they certainly enable the murderous action on the part of the gang members. (I know a bit over the top comparison, but an enabler is an enabler).
