911 Call of Breonna Taylor's Murder By LMPD Released

in #justiceforbreonna4 years ago (edited)

There's a lot of attention in the media about the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis but this is certainly not the first case in recent weeks where police have murdered an innocent citizen. In fact there's a case still being investigated in my state where police have taken fatal action against an innocent citizen.

Just over two weeks ago Breonna Taylor and her boyfriend Kenneth Walker were asleep in their home. According to Walker someone came to their door and was beating on it. Before they opened it someone burst in the front door of their apartment and Walker fired a shot toward the front door with his legally owned firearm.

Unfortunately this was the police. They were there for a search warrant (for someone that was already apprehended hours earlier) and allegedly busted in without announcing themselves. When Walker opened fire at the intrusion they returned fire killing Breonna on site.

To make matters worse Walker has been arrested for attempted murder after attempting to defend his home from an unannounced intruder. The cops busted into their home in the middle of the night and killed his girlfriend but he's the one facing charges while officers allege no wrongdoing. I can't even believe I have to write things like that.

Today Louisville's Mayor has released all of the 911 calls from not only Walker but also other residents at the apartment complex and even those of officers on the scene. You can listen to Walker's call on the attached link though it's certainly heartbreaking.

I pray that justice is served in each of these cases of police abuse. Unfortunately history isn't in these victims favor as we have seen time and time again.

This is so sad 😭😭😭

I can't even imagine what it would be like to be him. Not only do you lose the one you love but the people who do the injustice are free while you get imprisoned. Horrific!

Wow! Now this should be all over the news.
