천왕성에도 고리가 있을까? Does Uranus have rings, too?

안녕하세요😊 여러분, 혹시 천왕성에도 고리가 있다는걸 알고계시나요? 아마 보통 대부분의 사람들은 토성에만 고리가 있다고 생각하지만 사실 토성 외에도 고리가 있는 행성들이 있습니다ㅎㅎ오늘은 고리를 가진 행성들에 대해 이야기해보려고 해요. 그럼 시작합니다!

Chapter1. 행성들이 가지고 있는 고리에 대한 가설들

이것은 뉴호라이즌스호가 찍은 목성의 고리사진인데요, 고리에 대한 가설은 2가지로 나뉩니다.

가설 1. 미세 입자들이 모여 고리를 이루었다.

태양계가 처음 만들어질 때 태양을 중심으로 가스와 먼지로 구성된 큰 원반이 있었는데, 여기서 각각의 행성이 탄생했습니다. 이때 남은 부스러기 중 행성 가까이 있는 것을 행성이 끌어들여 고리를 만들었다는 것이 첫 번째 가설이라고 합니다. 하지만 토성의 고리의 경우 이 가설과는 맞지 않습니다. 이 가설 대로 고리가 행성이 태어날 때의 우주먼지로부터 만들어졌다면, 중력 때문에 이미 토성에 빨려들어갔어야 된다고 합니다.

가설2. 행성 고리의 정체는 깨진 혜성이다

토성의 고리 형성에 대한 두번째 가설은 깨진 혜성이라는 것입니다. 그러나 혜성과 같은 작은 천체가 행성 주변을 지나며 깨지거나 위성과 충돌할 가능성은 희박하다고 합니다. 붙잡힌 혜성이나 소행성은 자신을 끌어당기는 행성의 중력을 이기지 못하거나 다른 위성과 충돌하면 산산조각이 납니다. 이렇게 생긴 파편이 계속 행성 주위를 돌며 고리를 만든다는 것입니다. (출처: 네이버 블로그)

자 고리에 대해서 잠깐 살펴봤으니 이제 고리를 가진 행성들을 살펴볼까요?

고리를 가진 행성 1. 토성

토성은 고리를 가진 행성이라고 가장 흔히 알려져 있는 행성인데요, 토성의 고리는 거대한만큼 종류도 10가지나 된다고 합니다.
토성의 고리는 밝은물질로 구성되어있어 더욱 잘 보인다고 합니다.

고리를 가진 행성 2. 천왕성

토성 다음으로 유명하지만 거의 알려져있지 않은 천왕성의 고리는 토성의 고리처럼 빽빽하게 고리들이 있는게 아니라 띄엄띄엄 고리들이 있어서 토성만큼 선명하진 않아요. 천왕성의 고리는 주고리(Main Ring), 먼지고리(Dusty Ring) 그리고 외부고리(Outer Ring) 로 구성되어 있습니다. 천왕성의 고리는 행성들의 고리중 가장 어둡습니다. 그렇기때문에 고리가 늦게 발견된것이라고도 할 수 있죠.

고리를 가진 행성 3. 목성
가장 흔하지 않은 이 목성의 고리는 최근에서야 발견됬다고 합니다. 1979년 보이저 1호가 목성의 고리를 처음으로 발견했고 그 후 다른 탐사선이 목성의 고리에 가까이 접근하여 목성의 고리가 4개라는것을 발견했다고 합니다. 목성의 고리는 헤일로고리(Halo Ring), 주고리(Main Ring), 아말테야고리(Amalthea gossamer Ring) 그리고 테베고리(Thebe gossamer Ring) 으로 구성되어있다고 합니다.

마지막으로 해왕성에도 고리가 보이저호에 의해 발견되었다고 합니다. 천왕과 마찬가지로 어두운물질로 이루어져 있고 고리는 5개로 이루어져 있습니다.
5개의 고리들중 신기한 고리 하나가 있습니다.

각각 고리에 두세개의 딸린고리가 존재하는데 이렇게 꼬아져 있다고 합니다. 신기하죠?

The second hypothesis of Saturn's ring formation is that it is a broken comet. However, small bodies such as comets are unlikely to break or collide with satellites as they move through the planet. When caught, comets or asteroids can not withstand the gravitational pull of the planet or break into other satellites. And this debris keeps going around the planet and making rings. So now that we have a quick look at the rings, let's look at the planets that have rings.

Planet with rings 1.Saturn

Saturn is the most commonly known planet with rings, and its rings are as many as 10 different kinds.

Saturn's rings are more visible because they are made of bright materials.

Planet with Ring 2. Uranus

The rings of Uranus, the second most famous but little known after Saturn, are not as thick as Saturn's rings, but rather rather rather rather rather, because of its scattered rings. Uranus's rings consist of the Main Ring, the Dusty Ring, and the Outer Ring. Uranus's rings are the darkest rings on the planets. That's why the rings were found late.

Planet with rings 3. Jupiter

The least common ring on Jupiter was found only recently. In 1979, Voyager 1 first discovered Jupiter's rings, and then another probe came close to it and found that it had four rings. Jupiter's rings are the Halo Ring, the Main Ring, the Amalthea Gossamer Ring, and the Thebe Ring.

Finally, a ring was found in Neptune by Voyager. Like the emperor, it is made of dark matter and has five rings.
One of the five rings is a strange ring.

Each ring has two or three attached rings, which are said to be twisted like this. Isn't it amazing?
