today I want to tell you my story about my kenya trip. Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in Africa and a founding member of the East African Community (EAC). Its capital and largest city is Nairobi. Kenya's territory lies on the equator. It is bordered by Tanzania to the south and southwest, Uganda to the west, South Sudan to the north-west, Ethiopia to the north and Somalia to the north-east. Kenya covers 581,309 km2 (224,445 sq mi), and had a population of approximately 48 million people.
I have had a 11 days shooting in kenya for a sport tennis brand. After a long flight over Ethiopia and a 2 hours drive over gravel roads and adventurous traffic conditions as well as a ferry trip with 1000 passengers, we drove from the airport to our place of arrival. That was Diani Beach, a 25-kilometer softly sloping, white sand beach of the Indian Ocean in Kenya. It is located about 35 kilometers south of Mombasa. Diani Beach is the tourist center of the south coast.
We had a wonderful time in Diani Beach. Besides the shootings, we saw a lot of the wonderful and varied country and culture. The people are really friendly even though they don`t have much for living.
That is the opposite side of kenya. It is a really poor country. And especially Diani Beach suffers from the enormous decline of the tourists in the last years due to the bom attacks a few years ago.
But today it is really safe there with a lot of security staff in the hotels etc.! Of course you can not walk through Mombasa alone thinking you will not get robbed. Hey it is a poor country you always have to keep it in mind.
But when you are in the hotels you are safe and you can enjoy a wonderful holiday in a beautiful country.
It is a feeling you are in a dream bubble, never want to come out ;)
But after that amazing time, we had to go back to germany. I really miss that time and I definitely will come back!
