As promised in our proposal, we will post weekly updates to let you know what's going on regarding Keychain development.
Keychain extension
On the past week, we focused on testing the past few features that were developed in order to push them to the store.
We are glad to announce that the version 1.10 as been pushed to the Chrome Store yesterday and will be available shortly. We will make a new announcement when it is released and get in touch with POs to use our new onboarding features. It is already available on the Firefox Add-On store.
Mobile App
The design of the account setup is now completely implemented and @nateaguila has started working on the design of the other parts of the App.
I have implemented the account importation procedure via QR code and I must say it does provide a great UX to be able to import your accounts so quickly!
I have also found out why some Android devices refused to use safe storage with biometrics via react-native-keychain library (see this issue). The problem is that some devices (Pixel 3, S10 ...) have a face recognition algorithm default as biometrics,but their face recognition is not recognized as safe enough for storing sensitive data. To go around this problem, the only way I found is to ask the user to change their preferred biometrics to fingerprints.
