From Extension to Full Browser Experience
Hive Keychain began as a browser extension back in the old chain days, designed to make transactions and interactions on Hive secure and simple. Over time, a new product was created, a powerful mobile app on Android and iOS with many new features like the in-app browser, which transforms the way users interact with the Hive ecosystem. Instead of jumping between apps or relying only on external browsers, Hive Keychain offers a smooth, built-in browsing experience on your phone.

Exploring the In-App Browser Features
1. The Ecosystem Tab
The Ecosystem tab is your entry point to Hive’s world of dApps. For a new user, it is a direct way to discover the Hive ecosystem with all the dapps where Keychain is integrated. You can simply explore everything at your fingertips. Our ecosystem tab is there whether you want to blog, play games, trade tokens, or join communities.
As a plus, all dApps you can see there can be accessed using Hive Keychain.
2. Switch Between Mobile and Desktop Views
Sometimes, websites have a different appearance on mobile than on a desktop device. That’s why the in-app browser offers a toggle to switch between mobile and desktop views. With a single click, you can instantly change the display to either a compact navigation or a complete web experience.
3. Easy Navigation with Gestures
The in-app browser recently added modern usability standards by integrating intuitive gestures:
- Swipe down to reload the page
- Swipe left to go back
- Swipe right to move forward
This fluid navigation gives you a bigger screen, letting you browse and interact without unnecessary buttons.
4. Fast and Secure Transactions
Since you’re browsing directly inside Keychain, any Hive-related action, whether it’s voting, posting, or transferring; is signed and confirmed seamlessly within the app. Just as with the extension, but simpler and easier to manage.
This keeps your experience both fast and secure.
5. Favorites & History Management
Having an easy way to manage your Favorites sites and browsing History is a must-have on any browser, and our internal browser is no exception. Recently, we added gestures to make it easy to reorder or remove any item from it.
You can also clear the cache of the entire browser by simply holding the browser button in the bottom bar.

I've found that pages and apps render well me for within Keychains browser on an I-Phone.
Keychain is part of the package whoever is on hive and you guys keep on making it even better with each update that it bring. A BIG thanks to you for the great work. You make hive account accessibility and key management super easy. Thank you!
I need to get more accustomed to the in-app browser. I personally am not a fan of the swiping to go back or forward, as it has NOT worked for me a single time yet lol. Give me my buttons back!

I’ll play around with it some more.. but maybe a setting to use old browser display with back and forward buttons and the new one would be a decent change.
I, for the first time, got the swipe to go back to work just now lol. Does it only work at the top of the screen? I think that was my problem I was doing it in the middle or something.
It is designed to work from the edge of the screen for going back and forward. The top of the screen is just for reloading, but you can also do it from anywhere on the screen if you are at the top of the page.

Keychain App is a dapp that I used a lot when I was away from my desktop to access other Hive applications, like tomorrow, I will be in a convention and will make a lot of snaps using Keychain.

Great job. I had already started using some of these features. Perhaps the update could have come to iOS a little earlier. This app is definitely the most comprehensive mobile Hive app. Thanks a lot for your effort
iOS is often more challenging in terms of requirements than Android, but we will always strive to deliver the same experience on both systems.
