Interesting information about the Kiev Metro

in #kiev8 years ago

Hello everyone
I want to tell you about my favorite city - Kiev . Namely about Kiev Metro.
After opening November 6, 1960 was the third in a row in the Soviet Union after Moscow and Leningrad . Kiev subway takes 24 th place in the world for passenger traffic .
Today Kiev Metro has three existing lines with 52 -name stations , operational length of tracks is 67.6 km. In the Kiev subway has three underground interchange node in the center of the city .

The deepest station is the station "Arsenal" (105.5 m). Currently, the station is considered the deepest in the world..

Now the price of the entrance to the subway 4 hryvnia , or 16 cents
Metro goes through the "South Bridge" on the Dnieper

At the stations clean. In the subway cars, too.
Zoloti Vorota Station

In 2012, the station "Golden Gate" was included in the list of the 22 most beautiful subway stations in Europe.

The arches between the marble columns adorned with mosaic images of the princes of Kievan Rus

At the end of the station, both on the side of the platform, and from the escalators, four large mosaic panels are placed. On the output side to the city of Kiev is the symbol Image - Archangel Michael. On the opposite side of the station on one of the mosaics depicts St. George, symbolizing Moscow.

Under the vault of the central hall hung duplex bronze chandeliers covered with ornaments. Chandeliers probably borrowed the composition chandeliers Vladimir Cathedral, made from a sketch by Professor Adrian Prahova

Even at night when light duty station does not look like the others :) emergency lighting bulbs enclosed in balls and balls in the slots create intricate patterns of shadows. If ever in the Kiev subway will be a concert, it will certainly have to spend on the "Golden Gate" and only with emergency lighting.

I had no idea Kiev had a subway. I'm from San Francisco where our subway/BART stations don't look one tenth as historically rich and beautiful as yours.

Unfortunately I have not seen your subway. But I am very pleased for our

The inside of the metro is beautiful; I'd love to visit someday! I actually have friends in Kiev right now and they've been writing about how awesome Ukraine is. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, stunning pics, really impressive.

Besides, if you still live in Kiev, come on in to our Steemit meetup that will be held tomorrow. Grab some friends who are also interested in Steemit or blogging in general. It will be fun.
