Yes it gets very cold in the Midwest and I do wear leather gloves all the time in cold weather, not mittens. They tend to slip and slide on the my Jeep's steering wheel, not to mention when trying to tightly hold a leash when walking a strong Siberian husky. But I love how much warmer my fingers are when they can snuggle together inside a pair of gloves.
