I absolutely agree! People look at "experts" like they know what's going on, but really, experts are usually only 'smart' in one narrow field. They've spent so much time learning one thing, that everything else is lost on them.
I certainly subscribe to the 'Jack of all trades, master of none' way of life. Things are much more interesting when you have a lot of variety!
