Kondor - Koinos Wallet in your browser

in #koinos2 years ago

I'm glad to announce the release of the first browser wallet for Koinos Blockchain (Testnet). It is an extension for Google Chrome that enables you import your private key, check your address, your balance, and send tKoin to other addresses.

I have to thank Ron from Koinos Group who have helped me to create the user interface and the logo. I'm very happy with the result. And also happy to share it with the community.

How to use it

Go to the Chrome Web Store and install the extension

After open it you will see the page to unlock the wallet with the password or create a new wallet. As we are setting a new user click on "new wallet", next "get started", and then "import wallet".

Insert your private key in the WIF format (e.g. L1q3m9LpDfMnLSQbP58xUpCseBDVBCdw7qgzacN16DGX7DbitU6y). If you don't have a private key you can generate one at https://bitaddress.org.

Now set a password and confirm it.

The extension will encrypt and store your private key in the local storage of your browser. All this information remains with you and it is never transmitted over the internet.

Finally, you will reach the dashboard where you can see your address, and transfer tKOIN to other users.

Future work

There is a lot to do from this point to improve the current wallet. Here are some relevant improvements to work on (PRs are welcome):

  • Use a framework live Vue or React
  • Add support to different tokens
  • Option to interact with any contract

This is nice, keep it up
