충남지역 초등학교를 포함한 각급 학교 안팎에 학생들의 안전을 위협하는 '안전사각지대'가 방치되고 있는 것으로 조사되었습니다.
인도가 갑자기 붕괴되거나 난간이 흔들리는등 노후화가 심각한 채로 시설물이 방치되고 있으며 비좁은 인도에 공중전화 부스등 시설물이 들어와 아이들이 차도로 떠밀리는 일도 일어나고 있습니다.
충남도는 최근 22개의 학교에 대하여 시범적인 안전감찰을 실시했으나 그 효과는 미비하며 충남도 전체에 대한 안전감찰이 이루어질지도 미지수입니다.
안전감찰에 적발된 건중 가장 위험했던 일은 어린이 보호구역 인도 옆에서 산사태가 일어날 가능성이 극히 높고 언제 담장이 무너져도 이상하지 않은 지반이 약한 부분이 적발되었다고 합니다.
다만 대대적인 안전감찰은 처음이라고 하니, 조금 더 지켜봐도 될것 같습니다.
하루빨리 어린이들이 안심하고 다닐 수 있는 환경이 만들어지길 바랍니다.
