홍남기 국무조정실장 "암호화폐 거래소 폐쇄, 아직 결정 못 내려"

홍남기 국무조정실장이 암호화폐 거래소 폐쇄 여부에 대해 "어느 한 쪽으로 결론 내기에는 충분한 협의가 이뤄지지 않았다"고 밝혔다.

홍 실장은 27일 국회에서 열린 정무위원회 전체회의에서 "가상통화 문제는 취급업소를 폐쇄하는 것부터 제도권으로 흡수해야 한다는 주장에(이르기까지) 일장일단이 있어서 부처 내에서도 신중히 검토해야 한다"며 이같이 말했다.

홍 실장은 암호화폐 성격규정에 대해서는 "가상통화는 일단 법정화폐는 아니다"면서 "가상통화 거래 취급업소의 각종 불법행위나 거래 불투명성을 막는다는 기본 방침에 따라 법 테두리에서 투명하게 만드는 데 주력했다"고 강조했다.
