The Lake Development Authority (RAJUK) will decorate Uttara Lake with the facilities of lake protection, amusement and entertainment. The project will be submitted to the ministry soon, the company said.
The lake starts from Uttara 3 and 5 and runs on the Sonargaon highway road till the front of Shaheed Mansur Ali Medical College. Its length is about 3 kilometers, width is 100 meters wide. The project will also be renovated in Uttara 13 sector of the Uttara area.

High bridges will be built to break the bridges of 3 Sector and Gausul Azam Avenue bridge. Sonargaon will be part of the large culvert. Under these, there will be water taxis. Walk along the border and go to Panipatho to Abdullahpur. Without the traffic congestion, due to high bridges the vehicles can continue.
RAJUK took the initiative to reform the lake in 2013 due to various problems including bad smell, filling in water. Initially, RAJUK took a project in 2014 to dig a waste of one kilometer (part 3, 5 and 7 sector) of the lake, to save waste, and save the arrow. About 37 crore 32 million rupees project was to be completed in 2016. But the project started in the end of 2017. Now the project has been extended to expire by June 2019.
About the reasons for starting work in the project project, people involved in the project said that although the project was passed, there was no master plan with the Lake of Uttara. A masterplan was created in Uttara Lake in 2016-17. After Master Plan, in November of the year 2017, the work order was given for digging, removing waste and protecting the arrow one kilometer of the lake.
Apart from this, RAJUK wants to acquire almost one acre of land for the renovation of the lake under this project. Owners of this place are the Water Development Board. According to the latest progress report of the project, letters were sent to the Water Development Board for transfer of land through the district administration for necessary land. But the answer was not found.
Chandan Das, a laborer involved in the excavation, said in the first light on Saturday that the work started from December last. Working for three months is going on. Then the work was stopped due to rain. Work will begin again from October 20. So far 50 percent of the total work has ended, he said.
The director of the project, Aminur Rahman, said during the work of the project, the proposal was submitted to the Ministry of Development Planning, a revised development plan for Uttara Lake according to the master plan. So that the whole reform work can be done only once in the revised project. But the ministry has been asked to submit a new development plan from the Ministry. Its work is going on. Soon, new plans will be submitted soon. Already the initial work is done.
According to RAJUK sources, new projects are being taken as part of the continuation of the excavation, waste disposal and arrow protection project. The new project under the process will be around Tk 208 crores. Under the new project, 8 feet wide walking path on both sides of the lake, hanging paths in four places, a walk-through bridge, two large bridges, one culvert, six public latrines, 22 water decks, 12 hanging decks (partially There will be some other work related to the location of hanging on water, two gymnasiums, four fountains, food and water facilities. Apart from this, an open platform will be set up on the lake side of Hatirjheel on the lake side of Sector Park 13. Here the residents of Uttarara will get the opportunity to organize the ceremony.
The project director said that if the project is implemented, the lake water capacity will increase, the quality of the water will increase, pedestrians will get the opportunity to walk along the lake and walk through water taxis. After the completion of the work, the responsibility of maintenance will be given to the Uttara Sector-based Welfare Association; So that the lake is not dirty and users can maintain the beautiful atmosphere of the lake. But if needed, then RAJUK will reform. He said, if the project is implemented, then the look of the answer will be changed. Many people will be able to visit the lake just like Lake Hatirjheel.
