Hello Steemit. This is xenjacob, a presence on the internet dating back to 2006 or so.
There is much I am dying to tell you. All in good time. This post is about Partese, a language I am in the process of inventing/discovering/developing.
First of all, Partese is a language of performance more than of writing. It is pronounced Par-teas, not Par-teasy. Partese wants you to say the words aloud, to chew on them.
Since Partese isn't a language yet, since it has no speakers yet, it must do something, anything, to attract speakers, to speak it into languagedom. What does Partese do?
Partese is "the language of parts and wholes, of trips and parties". Get it? You may already know some Partese. All that remains is for you to describe what you are doing as speaking Partese, and that isn't so difficult.
Partese has a small, growing vocabulary of new words, but those aren't the important part of Partese. The important part of Partese is you. And you are a part of Partese; there's no denying it.
I'm not trying to pull any sort of hypnosis on you; it's simply that the world is so interconnected that the very fact that you are reading an article about Partese is having a non-linear consequence on your life and, through what you do about it, the lives of everybody else as well. Perhaps you are already aware of this, and deal with it in your own way. Whatever.
There are many ways into Partese.
You could be typing or speaking along in a normal way, and suddenly make a mistake, and find that you prefer the mistake to what you had intended to say. That is a Partese moment.
You could be struggling to get someone to understand what you mean, and get to the point where you are fed up and you make a little weird gesture seemingly out of nowhere and suddenly all is clear. That is a Partese moment.
You could find yourself saying something to yourself under your breath and realize that you don't know what it means, but you really like the sound of it. That is a Partese moment.
You could find yourself in the awkward position of trying to explain an inside joke to someone outside the inside of the joke, and suddenly discover yourself at the outside of the inside of their joke. Partese.
You could imagine yourself to be a cog in a great social machine, thinking "I don't make the rules, I just carry them out." Partese.
There are many contemporary matters that Partese has yet to have any explicit connection with, such as:
- why are there so few white people at Black Lives Matter events?
- why is it so hard to find a good job?
- why are so many issues polarized in such a way that about 50% of the people involved think one way, and about 50% think another way? in whose interest are such dichotomies?
We hope to explore these matters later on.
We'll leave you with a Partese word, what may have been the first Partese word:
Peetern
It means, not a pattern but a peetern.
You vex, that definition is circular. But in Partese, circular definitions are okay. You don't have to be okay with Partese, but Partese is okay with you either way.
