My new laptop is a fully custom built from the ground up hp zbook, it does need a new frame which I'll be machining myself to fit my needs, it's also got a fully modified cooling system with a larger, quieter fan, full copper contact plates and heatpipes and the radiator/finstacks are also 100% copper, before this it had an extremely small aluminium radiator and would scream just in the windows login screen, however with the new cooling system it can run half life 2 at a (unstable because quadro) 30-50 fps with light stuttering fully passively
From what I've found, the fans only ramp up when viewing medical scans of 3d xrays and mri scans from what I've found

So in the future hopefully have a new custom frame, an upgraded cpu (i7 4940MX extreme edition) a modified vbios in order to run a gtx 945M and a working power button because right now the only way to turn it on is to plug it into wall power, I'm also looking at getting the post and boot time down to sub 10 seconds from the current 15 second boot time
The picture of the weird looking phone is my old college laptop that I've been using since 2020 and it's so badly beaten that the only thing holding the battery in place and stopping from shorting is a couple of hello kitty stickers
Also please ignore the last photo its quite old and didn't have the new cooling system yet as of when it was taken
The current specs are
A core i7-4910MQ (4 cores 8 threads, 3.9ghz)
32gb of 1600mhz ddr4 in quad dimms
A quadro K2100M alongside my cpus intergrated gpu for hybrid graphics
A 1tb, 6gb/s sata ssd alongside a 128GB 6GB/s Msata ssd
It also has full size gigabit networking and WLAN alongside WiFi however it does not yet have intergrated Bluetooth
I will also be running an external gpu through the express slot when the laptop is docked and when undocked it will house an additional 4 usb 3.0's.

Whats the cost of machining a new frame likely to be? Sounds expensive relative to the laptop's specs. Having said that, they do not make them like they used to! Modern laptop chasis are literal rubbish!
Since I'll be machining the frame myself, I'd say it'll cost me about $30–50 USD.
