Part 2/9:

At one point, the crew describes viewing Earth from approximately 130,000 nautical miles away—about 149,000 statute miles—through the spacecraft's left-hand window. The Earth appears as a luminous sphere with a bluish cast, predominantly showing the eastern Pacific Ocean and North America, including Alaska, the United States, Canada, and Mexico. South America fades into darkness just beyond the terminator—the line dividing day and night—highlighting the planet in its dynamic shadow and light.
