If you consider the fact that 179,757 Tesla cars have been manufactured total: 23/32 Millions pounds of copper has been used to create all the Tesla cars.

That's 96.6/134.4 Million dollars worth of copper total based on todays spot price of $4.20 a pound!

According to Copper: How Tesla's Biggest Ingredient Could Make You Rich "By 2025, there will be over 5,000,000 electric cars produced each month from these three automakers alone. Never mind all of the other car makers around the world, or bus makers, or equipment manufacturers."

Below are the percentages of copper in each area of the electric car according to the European Copper Institute.

Actually electric cars require more mining and materials then regular cars....

Making them actually more carbon unfriendly.

It takes fossil fuels to mine the copper as well as transport it for refining, let alone all of the energy it takes to manufacture all of the different components as well as plastic pieces wire insulation and more.

Now it would be great to see places using old copper and less mining, this may drive the price up but we have so much waste. thanks for sharing this👍
