Green Doing Better Than Alcohol

States with legal cannabis are seeing more dollars coming in from taxing those products than they are from alcohol.

And in some states there are hefty taxes on top of the products so it isn't any surprise that they would be bringing in millions if not billions of dollars eventually.

This has all happened without any federal legalization on cannabis yet.

Cannabis might still remain criminalized federally but if state authorities are ever looking to open the door to a market with the potential to generate tens of billions of dollars annually then cannabis is the answer.

There are still many regions that have strict rules against this plant and all activities surrounding it. We have known for years that the cannabis market would be a potential threat to alcohol which is why those in the alcohol industry have been betting on and carving out their own position within the cannabis industry for years.

Are we surprised if people might prefer cannabis?

According to one previous study, marijuana is safer than alcohol and tobacco, which wasn't the first to make such a suggestion either. A number of drinkers have already made the switch to cannabis, to get rid of the hangover and other unwanted side effects and to opt for something different.

A number of cannabis smokers both drink and use cannabis and tobacco, but that isn't every cannabis user. There are many cannabis users who don't ever drink or smoke, or use other drugs (defying the gateway cannabis nonsense), of all different ages and backgrounds. It is impressive to see how far the U.S. cannabis market has come already despite that federal criminalization that still remains and the heavy restrictions that exist in the market all over the country.

I love to drink, but do mandatory breaks due to how bad it is, and god forbid if I just say fuck it, and give in to it and drink everyday. Cannabis actually helps to take these breaks. It also could help someone who is additcted to booze to quit all together.
