Growing Ammo And Gun Shortage Hits Retailers Around the Country

One shortage that is hitting a growing number of retailers around the United States now is an ammo shortage. They have been selling hundreds of handguns every month and a great deal of them are reportedly new shooters too, at least some 80 percent of those buyers or more.

When they come in to buy their first piece they are also going to be buying several boxes of ammunition and that means that there has been a noticable surge in demand. The National Shooting Sports Foundation has reported that there has been at least a 95 percent increase in firearms sales for retailers, and more than a 139 percent growth for ammunition sales.

There has been a 139% increase in ammunition sales during the first few months of this year

Around the country guns and ammunition have been selling quickly. In some places you might not even be able to find ammo right now, like Sioux Falls, SD. Now, the uptick in business is putting a strain on availability of products for professional shooters too. Around the country there are retailers that are now facing empty shelves and are getting cleaned out faster than they can restock the goods. At least 17 million guns have been purchased just this year.

Oh man. Centralization of pot shops is bottlenecking the supply chain of weed. And on top of that, no guns or ammo?

Grow factories with machine shops in back should be coming back into style soon!

Fuck me that's a sign of people expecting things to go downhill!

I'm not surprised by this at all. My family was looking around for some new gun purchases too. Things are getting pretty hectic... I hope things don't go crazy after the election.

The things people hoard other than toilet paper?
