NYC Lagging in Recovery But Others Don't Have CityCoins Yet

NYC's recovery is not going as well as other regions. Especially when it comes to leisure and hospitality employment which makes up a great deal of employment positions available in the region. The loss of tourism has also been significant for the region and crime in the area isn't helping things get better.

That loss in jobs and tourism is a drag right now on the recovery that these numbers aren't back to where they should be. But there is one exciting difference that sets NYC apart from others now after the pandemic and that is the new introduction of the NYCCoin.

The NYCCoin came after Miami got its own coin and there are likely going to be more folllowing soon and we will see these city coin offerings grow around the U.S. and elsewhere in the world enabling people to put "cities in their their portfolios" essentially.

Today the NYCCoin has already brought in millions of dollars. With the Miami Coin already suggested to soon start paying dividends to residents in that region perhaps it might not be that much longer before we see the same in NYC with the NYCCoin, or the funds going to other community initiatives.

Over $20 Million in NYC City Wallet

So far there is over $20 million in the NYC City Wallet and who knows what these funds might go toward assisting and helping to get done in the future.

Another popular candidate for CityCoins had been Austin but NYC came first and so it might not be that much longer before we get to see an Austin Coin come up next.

In NYC there is also a crypto friendly recently elected mayor of New York City and there is a lot of potential for the region to become a renowned tech and innovation hub if the crypto market and other tech projects are able to flourish here.

I love these cities trying to come out with their own coins and DAOs, lol. The politicians have no idea they are making themselves obsolete.

I am just being patient, lol...

Cheers from Florida ;). The slow death of the Federal Reserve is imminent.

I did my nearly 10 years in Ft. Myers/Cape Coral and then the Florida Keys in Marathon until Irma decided my time was done, lol. In Oregon, but may find my way back at some point, lol
