Some Cali cannabis businesses have seen a major drop in value and many say the black market is still taking a lot of demand from the industry. The recreational adult market in California has been suppressed with a myriad of rules and extra fees, this can be incredibly difficult for small businesses to keep up with. It could essentially make it too expensive for them to do business, some even argue that those fees are excessive when compared to other industries. It is better to make some money then no money at all so there are clear incentives for communities to get it right and not to strangle this market and its potential.
Other cannabis companies have looked to sue over what they say are unconstitutional policies in the market. Why must cannabis businesses endure such arguable discrimination when others aren't subjected to the same? They continue to suggest they are facing an uphill battle and they want to see more help from politicians to strengthen the market. Freedom might be a good solution to try.
What are the chances we might see that direction embraced?
Consumers want ease, quality, good prices, those are the basics, and the more that the market is choked out by restrictions then it is less able to deliver what the consumers need.
Still around the US we see the cannabis market thriving and selling billions of dollars on an annual basis though, with some of the biggest markets like California, Washington, Colorado, and other areas, as the list continues to grow.
