Some restaurants opt to go seed-oil free

in #leofinance6 months ago

Seed oils aren't preferred by some and the demand is large enough that some restaurants have opted to change their menu and drop the seed oil products in favor of something else.

Oddly, some media outlets have referred to the concern for seed oils as a political or food issue from the right, but there are folks from a variety of political backgrounds who have brought up the issue of seed oils in recent years. This isn't a right-leaning issue and it's odd to see some outlets paint it as such.

Some are so against seed oils that they seek out restaurants that specifically aren't using them to cook their food items, different lists have been compiled to help consumers navigate to find those establishments.

Regardless of the worry that some have on these products though, there are scientists who have 'debunked' those supposed concerns relating to the products.

Still, these are food items that a few consumers are likely never going to touch it seems regardless of any effort to debunk those worries. They don't need convincing to reconsider their preference.

One common issue with seed oils is the worry for bad quality, oils being mixed with other ingredients, and products being rancid yet still being served and sold. They are still widely used around the world today and consumed by billions of people. It isn't uncommon for a variety of food products on the shelves to be found allegedly cut with other ingredients, in an effort which some say is financially motivated to user cheaper materials.
