The vertical farming market has been growing steady for years now.
There are people around the world who are taking advantage of the option to engage in vertical farming and are growing a wide range of vegetable and fruit options etc. From large scale commercial operations to much more individual farms there is broad variety for how this technology or way of growing can be utilized to help people diversify the food options that we have in the market today.
One recent report has suggested that we might see this market grow to reach over $18+ billion within just a few years.
There are a variety of benefits with vertical farming but the most obvious is enabling people to grow more with less space.
Vertical farming has enabled farmers to grow a variety of crops with much less water than they might traditionally use if they were doing it the old fashioned way. Now we have a variety of companies in this space too just in the United States that are working on different vertical farming operations. It's estimated that now just in the U.S. alone there are thousands of vertical farming operations.

I recently acquired a very small plot of land. By the time I build a tiny home on it, there won't be much space left for gardens, but gardens will be everywhere I can put them in some form. Vertical gardens are very much a part of the plan, and I think they're an under utilized technique in gardening right now.
