Although I am the creator and developer of the EXODE game, I wanted to help exterior people and game-investors know how to navigate through our many layers of content.
Hello Leofinance and hello HIVE people!
I post mainly in #hivegaming because I am a game after all, but this post is also more targeted to all exterior people that have seen EXODE coming in a feed from time to time but need a breakdown of what it is.
The Game
EXODE is a game about a vibrant universe and the last stand of mankind.
Set in year 2325, in introduces a setting where mankind is being slaughtered and players are among the last surviving captains in faraway stations.
Players can set up their starting starship and crew, and then can gather passengers, fuel and resources and then jump in a last effort to a new galaxy.
No one ever returned alive from an intergalactic travel at that time, so they know this is a "one way ticket". This jump is uncontrolled so all players are dispersed, and get to a living planet.
The Packs
One of the most innovative and interesting features is the concept of contract packs which was introduced since the very beginning of EXODE.
They can be used to gain items without having to play, and to have them still accessible to others players. That is the reason why we have contract packs for weapons, colonization, criminal characters/ships/equipement, and even up to holomovies.
The best way to understand the concept is to check this video:
Contract packs are explained at 1'50'' and after.
We also have a player-owned space station ; we demonstrated some of the coming features here and it includes card renting and governance, and the shares are tradable, so maybe you can get some shares from players if you are lucky.
Since then, we have also created a new pack to support a new gameplay, called Colonization Challenges.
But one of the most interesting packs has been released after, and it is the Book One content.
You can learn more about it here.

Book One pack, contract packs and the soon to be released (in about 3 to 4 months) genetician pack (with the ability to create your own customized cards) are the most secured way to invest into EXODE if you are not directly a player.
Packs for Colonization Challenges (Fire worlds and Ice Worlds) are already deployed and directly used in gameplay. These support a weekly gameplay mode with a season and leaderboards.
The Status
After deploying evacuation gameplay, all the market content and above 500 different card models, we have worked on several colonization gameplay experiments.
We released Colonization Challenges, a weekly gameplay, which successfully makes players use their entire collection of cards.
The other gameplay we'll propose is called 2.5 Colonization because it acts as a bridge between web2 and web3 players. This is right at this point that we will make our full attempt at distributing EXODE.
Web2 visitors will be able to purchase web3 cards without them noticing they are from players! This one is really innovative and in the works.
Note that in EXODE, we provide also "a value niche" for every content.
The idea is that very often, aside from common packs, it will be very rare for two sellers should compete to sell something.
- Content is heavily representative of a faction and story, making players more willing to collect them all.
- Card models act as "procedural templates" for characters you use in a colonization game, meaning every character is different and coming out from options so many they are uncountable.
- Colonization is built around procedural planets, with procedural biofragments you get from them, and from which every player will make his own crafting. This generation has always been the case in EXODE (first explored in food crafting) and this will be the case with 2.5 too.
- Elite cards are rarer, different card models and attributes.
- You can use REFIT packs to change your card model into one of 7 versions with unique powers and story, and be the official discoverer of it, making your template even more unique.
- Colonization Challenges use your duplicates to power up "stars", used in weekly missions, so even storing duplicates is useful.
- Contract packs is as if we made an expansion and decentralized it into the hands of players
How to Get In?
The shop will create you an EXODE account if you take a starter.
But right now the highest value for non-players is through taking Book One.
This is my opinion and for four reasons:
(1) ... the entire drop table of a pack like this is made of unique cards, cards only present from it. This is the same for all our Contract Packs.
(2) ... it will mint unique Origin cards, which are the base of a gameplay. An Origin card is mandatory for a game and has the synergy traits that work with your entire deck. This is the first time a contract pack does this.
(3) ... its content is backed up by the novel, so the more the novel progresses, the more players will be interested in its protagonists and their cards. So once the pack becomes usable, you can just take your weekly mints, see if you got some Elite cards and list them. The drop table even progresses over time as chapters will progress.
(4) ... and always keep in mind EXODE is still undistributed. It kept value and me working on it without having real groups of visitors.
Like all contract packs, not only do you keep the rising value of the contract itself, but you also can use the mints during a lifetime to sell content. And since all our prices are listed in USD, you are protected from any bear market, we never had to care about this.
A previous sample made me understood EXODE should have some way to play it free before I open the doors wide, so the 2.5 is a free-to-play version of it, and its release will be when I'll be able to open the doors wide.
Thank you!
I thank you for your time reading this!
It will be immensely beneficial if you reblog this, helping others be aware of this game on HIVE.
I am on HIVE because I was convinced of the positive values of its project creators and feel like being among like-minded people.
The game does not have many on-chain transactions (all market is on blockchain, of course) but that will increase for all scenes made stable.
I focus my efforts on utility and worldbuilding because I think
(1) being a world helps people identifying with the content,
(2) identifying with the content helps with "keeping the content with you", in your collection,
(3) I prefer to identify with game values, actions, game content before I do with currencies
(4) and minting currencies should be behind as many layers of actions and utility as possible (part of a full ecosystem and skill system that you get through, and that bots can't get through), and never be direct, else you make the currency highly vulnerable or even condemned.
But there are hive engine currencies too in EXODE (EXOCREDITS and EXOFUEL), very soon to be used for EXOCREDITS. This will be covered in another blog when its utility is fully released.
I am not supported by DHF or anything else than our active players, and am mostly busy programming the game and polishing the latest gameplay.
So any help in giving exposure and information to other HIVE people is great.
As a single developer, I need all the help I can get :)
Also, my apologies for discussing the contents above in some ways defending my content, I tried to be informative too, and I hope you find the video I made fun (you will see the reference I wanted to give tribute to, I hope :) ).
And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them here, or on our Discord!
By the end of the first chapter I was very interested to continue reading! I can hardly wait for following chapters to be released.
Yeah the novel is going to be a lot of fun. Can't wait to see that book one contract content...
