Part 3/12:
One of the most iconic faces of General Hospital was John Berardino, who portrayed Dr. Steve Hardy from the series’ inception until his retirement in 1996. His tenure of over three decades made him a cornerstone of the series. Berardino's transition from mainstream film and television to serialized drama exemplifies his dedication to the craft. Besides his legendary role on General Hospital, he appeared in prime-time television and movies, often as medical professionals. Recognized with three Daytime Emmy nominations, Berardino's impact extended beyond acting—his name is uniquely linked to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, where he is among the few to hold a World Series Championship Reign. Tragically, Berardino’s life was cut short by cancer when he died at age 79 in 1996.
