Choris Leachman: Beverly Ann Stickle
Chloris Leachman played Beverly Ann Stickle, Edna Garrett’s spirited sister, who joined the series in later seasons. Beverly Ann brought vivacity and unconventional charm, acting as the new housemother and infusing the show with her quirky personality. Her nurturing yet lively approach helped maintain the warm, family-like atmosphere at Eastland.
Leachman’s illustrious career includes multiple Emmy Awards for her role on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" and a Golden Globe for her performance in "Phyllis." She was also honored with an honorary doctorate from Drake University. Leachman passed away peacefully from natural causes at age 94 on January 27, 2021. Her performances continue to inspire as a testament to her dynamic talent and spirit.
