Early morning chicken egg check-in.

The flock is happy and the younger chicks are zooming around the coop lol.

My wife is trying to get some chickens soon, any good point to start, advice for first timers?

I have a raising backyard chickens bundle just for this! https://shop.gubbahomestead.com/product/raising-backyard-chickens-bundle/

Besides that the best thing to do is figure out what you want chickens for eggs or meat. 1/2 🧵

Weather and how much shelter they will have will also determine what breed of chicken and I would HIGHLY recommend an automatic chicken coop door opener. That's been a game changer lol no more super early mornings.

Your chickens are laying eggs already. That's awesome

Yep! Getting around 8 eggs a day and by end of summer the new chicks should be laying as well.

Do you inject them with egg laying drugs or it comes naturally

naturally just good quality food and room to free range

That's amazing. You have a beautiful poultry then.

Over here, our eggs are pinkish-brown in colour. Those whites look quite lovely.

I'll have some colored ones from the new breeds I added in this year! I'm excited for that lol

Oh do take pictures when you do. Looking forward to them.🤗
