2025 is 3/4 finished and I have been grinding for all of it. Life has been extremely busy with family, work, friends, and everything that has to be done to run a household. In all, it has been good, but very tiring.
I took on a longer term assignment in June which is supposed to only take up about 50% of my work week, but there is so much to do, along with a corporate re-structure, that I have been banking hours like crazy. Along with my "normal" day job I have been working way more than I typically want to, which leaves little time for anything else.
Too much noloafing makes noloafing go something something
In all I have been living up to my name and there has been noloafing for me. So much so I haven't been:
- writing
- taking pictures,
- hiking
- etc.
In fact, I have been sitting so much and working so much that I have really fallen off the horse with regards to #noloafingloseit and have lost ground way too much. To the point that when we went for a evening stroll around the city for a night art festival that I was sore the next day.
This is on top of my wrist and shoulder acting up again from way too much computer time.
Plans for the rest of the year
I have bee too busy till now, but in a good place #noloafingmoney wise, so I will be not looking for work for the rest of the year, rather I will only be active with my long term gig and see if work comes to me, then in the new year I will start looking for work again and get back to being busy. I'm sure that things will come my way, and I will entertain those opportunities as they come, but I'm taking a break from active business development.
More writing
In fact, I'm hoping that this will give me some of the much needed mental space to do more writing and blogging here. Its something that I miss, and with the recent crash in the BTC I'm going to build up on my hive staking some more.
If you have read this far, you have a chance to get some #HBI Hive SBI.
REBLOG FOR HBI
I have about 16 hive at the moment, and if you reblog this post you will get a chance to win all of that, plus whatever #HIVE that this post generates. I have it set for 50/50 HIVE/HP.
So make sure that you upvote it, and reblog to make the pot as big as possible.
More thoughts
Back to the post.
Something that I have been thinking about lately is how things are named. For example I have a very hard time with profiles, I'm an engineer but that doesn't really define my person, and if you met me you probably wouldn't clock me as a highly technical person based on what I wear, and the things that I'm interested in alone. Especially if it was a general social context.
The same goes with the idea of naming these blog posts. That to me, in today's age, sounds just like content in the context of content generation or content creator. I may be a creator/writer, but it isn't for content. That is the empty calories of the internet. In stead I will be writing essays or letters, with most being the latter, maybe with some "articles" or "papers" mixed in.
A letter feels more genuine, I'm updating you on what is going on in my life and giving you permission to tell me what you are up to at the same time.
An essay has a purpose, a reason to exist that is greater than just being content. The same with articles and papers, they are there to inform the reader, not just grab their, your, attention.
Never LLMs
I will never, ever, ever, use an LLM or any of the agents that are built on them to write these, or even draft these for me. It will always be from me, and not some spicy-autocomplete garbage. There is no humanity in that, and we are on this planet for too short of a time to be anything but human.
That's enough for today. I need to get some lunch.
Cheers,
NL
