Liberstad - a little piece of freedom

in #liberstad7 years ago

Introduction and philosophy

Liberstad is the project to establish a new private city in the hearth of south Norway. Our motto is:

"a little piece of freedom"

New York Times wrote in 2015 about the future need of more cities, with countries such as India which has a demand of more than 400 million new citizens in the next 35 years. That is more than the whole of USA today.

There are many historical and current project to establish cities and other forms of communities. We believe that Liberstad will be successful with its philosophy, which is in some ways different from a lot of these other projects.

The foundation of which Liberstad is established, is that all human interactions should be voluntary. We believe that for a civil, prosperous and successful society, it is required that the citizens have autonomy and freedom. History has shown us, that more freedom have given better quality of life.

The philosophy is summed up as follows:

Natural Rights (Life, Liberty and Property)

Meaning: By living, you have the right to life. To live your life, you need liberty to move around (if contained in a box, you would wither and eventually die), and property is necessary as a means to plan and ensure survival in the future.

Private Property

All ownership is private, this does not exclude someone from making agreements on mutual ownership, but there are no property owned "by the public".

Self-Ownership

You own yourself, and through that you own the results and products of your labor.

Non-Aggression-Principle

Nobody have the right to initiate aggression towards others.

Anarcho-Capitalism

Anarcho as in "without leaders", and Capitalism as in "a buyer and seller can transact freely and voluntarily agree on the price for a good or service, without third parties requiring taxes or regulation on trades".

Voluntaryism

All interactions between humans should be voluntary in nature.

Free Market Capitalism

A market that is not regulated and taxed, where people can freely choose medium of exchange, prices and everything else.

Established June 2017

After a successful pre-sale, Liberstad was established the 1st of June 2017 in Marnadal, Norway. With more than 100 investors from 27 different countries, the construction and development of Norway's first private city has started.

The city will grow at a natural pace, meaning that there won't be any large top-down planning and construction. Instead it will be developed by taking care of the fantastic beautiful forest and area, and it will be developed in a joint co-operation with it's citizens.

Since Liberstad is a private city, not it's own sovereign state, it also means that the development of the city must adhere to the national and regional laws and regulations. That means zoning-plans has to be completed, submitted and approved by the municipality before major construction and changes can happen.

We plan on documenting and sharing as much information as possible, and hope to inspire others to go ahead with similar projects elsewhere. Follow our progress going forward, and read more about Liberstad at our website:

Thanks!

I hope it becomes a zone like Taiwan within Norway. Then it's basically sovereign because the Norwegian economy will depend on it.

Have followed This community a little on Facebook earlier, seems very Interesting, Even If i personally think that the "kommune" will put forward alot of problems concerning the building of more property.
