Day9:Two Things I Am Currently Unlearning.

in #lifestyle • 3 months ago

Hi guys, welcome to my blog 🤍

I couldn’t make a post yesterday because of some activities beyond my control. I got back home really late and completely exhausted. But today, I’m here—and I want to share two things I am currently unlearning.

I believe growth isn't a magical word, it doesn't happen by chance. It happens when one take the initiative to change certain habits and mindset intentionally.

The first thing I am unlearning is always saying “yes,” even when it is inconvenient for me.
I chose people's comfort over my own peace. I accept everything they say as agreed to things I wasn't Okey with, just so I don't offend anyone.
Sadly, this has made them take undue Advantage and that hurt.

So now, I am unapologetically saying no to request, behaviours, and relationships that don't benefit me or align with my val or even contribute to my growth. Any relationship that is always at the receiving end is a " no" for me. Let's it be mutual.

I believe this chance will help my mental and emotional well-being.

The second thing I am unlearning is feeling guilty for choosing myself.
Recently I realised that prioritizing my well-being does not make me selfish—it makes me healthy. I am allowed to set boundaries, rest, grow, and protect my energy without explaining myself to everyone.

Unlearning isn’t easy, but it is necessary. And I’m proud of myself for choosing growth.

@goodysam, this hits deep! Unlearning people-pleasing and guilt for self-care is revolutionary.Saying "no" unapologetically and demanding mutual respect isn't selfish,it's essential for sustainable growth.Proud of your stance, it's inspiring more of us to protect our peace.Keep shining! 💪✨

I am glad you can relate.... people pleasing doesn't pay .

You're right, people pleasing often leaves us empty-handed, especially when those efforts go unappreciated time and again.

Imagine the freedom of prioritizing your own needs, saying a simple "No" without over-explaining becomes truly empowering, not disappointing.
Thanks 🙏for the vote,I really appreciate!

That is how life should handled. Saying yes at all times makes you to avail yourself for every purpose. Either positive or negative. It's a good step you've taken

Thank you for engaging.

It's my pleasure

You're welcome
