The Growing industry of the Uganda Movie sector | Uganda Film Festival awards 2022

On the 03rd of June 2022, Uganda Communications Commission, the Government's body which regulates the communications sector in the country held an awards ceremony to close the Uganda Film Festival 2022 edition. The function was held at the Uganda institute of information and communications technology grounds in Nakawa, which is situated in Kampala, the capital city off the country.

The festival which ran for one week was a big headline in the history of the movie industry especially considering the rate at which the industry has grown.

Various activities gave the local movie fans an experience never to forget. There were film screenings, workshops, forums among others. And at the end of all that the Grand finale everyone was waiting for where the best in the Ugandan movie industry were awarded.

The nominees for the awards had been called upon earlier this year to make their submissions and the deadline was on March 31st, and it's from this big list that the organizers selected the final list of the nominees to contest for the awards.

The actors and the movies that won awards were indeed the best of the best in the country and for each award they collected, it was followed up with a cash prize to appreciate the contribution made to the movie industry.
