Many Linux & open-source projects or libraries online don't have a proper logo or design.
The top image is an existing .png raster design/logo for LUKS that I found online, and the bottom two are my .SVG renditions of it.
LUKS or Linux Unified Key Setup is a disk encryption library that integrates into LVM or Linux Volume Manager for ext4/btrfs and maybe other file systems.
Sometimes I'll need to feature or visually represent them for just a few seconds in my videos, and I truly hate using low-resolution or sub-par visual representations.
So I will end up attempting to design my own.
General logos are simpler, but I've also done some icon designs.
Icons are a lot more complicated because they are expected to fit into existing icon themes with their own guidelines.
Designing a logo like the one I'm doing here is simple, but shrinking it down to 64px, 32px, 16px usually means re-designing it to be viewed at those small sizes.
It's not quite done yet because I'm having difficulty getting the numbers to properly align to the dials.
Here is an exploded view of the parts:
The numbers at the top in a straight line are the pattern along path in a circle. The same way the dial-ticks are, but those are 'repeated'.

Another one I did recently was for Android's Toybox, but I don't particularly like any of these enough to try and submit them to the project.
I may submit the LUKS one if I can get it right.
