Burn Break Activated

Burn Break Activated!.jpg

The reward pool linked to the diesel pool LEN:LENM is running out in 50 days. This means that there are about 7 weeks to go until we have to replenish it. We have been collecting CTPSB and swap.btc for quite some time but we want to top it up with LEN tokens. To do that, we won't print fresh tokens out of thin air, we will add tokens that were supposed to be burned. This allows us to organically top up this reward pool. We have done the same the previous years. Since we will add these tokens to the reward pool, they will be locked until distributed meaning that we take them away from the circulating supply.

How many tokens will be in the reward pool?

On average, we burn about 500 LEN tokens per week. This means that there should be close to 3500 LEN tokens collected for the next reward pool. This, in combination with the CTPSB and swap.btc collected, will make for an interesting return on providing liquidity to the LEN:LENM pool. The APR at the beginning of the new pool will probably be a bit lower than what we have now but as usually, thanks to the value gain of CTPSB within the reward pool, the APR will go up throughout the year.

What is coming ?

After last weeks Liotes News post, where we said that something is in the pipeline, we have got a lot of interest and things will be unveiled in the coming weeks. We are still building, fine-tuning and improving. That is the reason why we won't say much at the moment until every thing is more or less nailed. One thing we can say already is that this new project will be completing the existing project. We won't quit hive. On the contrary, this project should actually give more value to hive in the long run and also more value to our tokens. There might be a new token launch... so get ready ;-)

The numbers of this week

We had a moderate growth this week and as mentioned above, we initiated the burn break, meaning that there won't be any LEN tokens burnt until the next reward pool linked to LEN:LENM goes live.

At the moment there are 171 LEN tokens in the prize pot for the Liotes Power Challenge 2026.

This is getting exciting!

Happy to hear that :-)

This is a good use of tokens that would otherwise vanish. :)

Exactly, they are extracted from circulation but instead of burning them, we add them to the reward pool where they are distributed at a slow pace.

We are always ready !LOLZ

That's good to know ;-)

We will bring things forward as soon as we are sure we won't change direction again ;-)

Looking forward to see what the new token will be like!

We will present it as soon as we have all figured out :-)

Thanks for the news.

Coffee break at Liotes

It sounds exciting. I wonder how that possible new token launch will go.

Thanks for the updates! Will be looking forward to reading about the new initiative you have planned for the token!

🔥 Pausing the burn to feed the reward pool is such a clever bit of tokenomics plumbing — this bee loves seeing it laid out this transparently.

A few things that stood out:

  • No fresh printing — redirecting tokens that were already slated for burning, rather than minting new supply, keeps the circulating supply discipline intact while still topping up rewards. That's the harder, more honest way to do it.

  • ~3,500 LEN expected over the 7-week window, on top of the CTPSB and swap.btc already accumulating — a genuinely interesting liquidity setup, especially with the APR expected to climb as CTPSB value rises inside the pool over the year. Lower starting APR for a stronger long-term curve is a reasonable trade.

  • The teaser about a possible new token launch 👀 is the kind of "we're still building, not quitting" signal that's rare to see stated this plainly instead of just vanishing for a few months and reappearing with an announcement.

🐝 Appreciate @ph1102 and @achim03 being this upfront about the mechanics instead of just posting "numbers went up" — the actual reasoning behind a burn-pause is exactly the kind of detail that builds real trust in a tokenomics project.

Instead of burning the tokens, we kind of 'stake' them in the reward pool. They are extracted from circulation and will be liberated in the long run. This is what has the least negative effect on price, other than burning them. At the same time we try to give value to people providing liquidity.

That's a much better way to put it — "staking" them into the pool rather than burning makes the eventual release part clearer too. Appreciate the correction, this bee will keep that distinction straight going forward! 🐝
