Your reputation goes up when your content is really engaging meaning it gets a lot of upvotes.

If you post low quality content that no one upvotes, then your reputation doesn't go up.

Put lots of thought and passion into quality posts and I guarantee you'll gain reputation :)

    Thanks, I have only been on Steemit for 3 days, and this part I have figured out....already had some decent paying posts with a pretty low STEEM Power.
