He was the first Dark Hunter. Now he is the undisputed leader of all of them. He does not answer to anyone and his orders are obeyed at the moment. It is powerful, enigmatic, inaccessible. A legend among legends. He has fought for the survival of humanity while jealously concealing his origins
For those who do not know, this book is number 25 of the Dark Hunters saga and tells the story of its leader: Acheron. The review is free of explicit spoilers, only very general details that probably if you have read the books and the prologue are already your knowledge. The few that are there are duly indicated.
The saga itself is quite long and complex. Years ago I had read the story of Julian from Macedonia, as well as that of Zarek of Moesia. But then I discovered that it was a series and that I was reading it in disarray. So I decided to look for them, mission in which I failed because I live in country where it costs that this type of books arrives, I could find a few but even so in the biggest of the main cities I could not get them since they are almost books ten years, so I'm still waiting to have them all physically.

This is one of the few books that I have taken too long to finish, and that is that Acheron's life as such is strong, I have commented with some friends, and they say that they had to read very in parts due to the magnitude of the that had to be assimilated. and they have complete reason.
The book is composed of three parts, the first part tells in detail the life of Acheron in Atlantis.
The second and in which the most gruesome details of his life are obtained, are Ryssa's diaries: his human sister and princess of Didymos. Without going into much detail Ryssa covers the life of Acheron since he was a newborn until his 21 years. It is a terrible story, cry what you can not imagine because it made me think that these macabre things still happen to many people in the XXI century. Acheron's life as a child and adolescent was full of abuse, abuse, humiliation and aberrations, situations that led him to become a cynical and bitter young adult, sometimes unable to see goodness in the world. Despite this, he found a way to help and reach out to those who needed it. It was very sad to read how the only thing he could crave was the only thing they would never allow him: death. At birth, the life force of Acheron was linked to that of his twin brother Styxx to ensure his survival, in a few words: if Acheron died, Styxx too. Sherrylin warns of the content of this first part, inviting the reader to feel uncomfortable with this type of issues to jump and move forward with the third part, which is where the current life of Acheron in New Orleans as leader of the dark hunters is told. . But, as we well know, sometimes it is necessary to know the past of some people to understand their present. As he progressed in the reading he remembered excerpts from other books and clarified doubts that in that story remained unsolved

I became obsessed. I felt the need to finish it and know that there was a light at the end of the tunnel. I am sure that all those who read this story went through that stage in which they thought "Seriously, no longer, it is not possible for a person to support so much in life and not break"
The book is quite long. LENGTHY. 700 pages. The current era begins almost on page 500. So there are 500 pages of exact details of everything that happened to Acheron as a human being.
That yes, I think that all doubts were absolutely resolved: The origin of the Charon, who created the Daimons (if they have read the books have an idea of who he is), the meaning of the Acheron symbol (this had me INTRIGUED) and that it is what it really is, that encompass its powers, how and why the Dark Hunters were born, which was exactly what happened with the Apolitas and their relationship with Artemis.
I confirmed, despite my doubts, that his relationship with Artemis was the sad portrayal of a toxic relationship, full of manipulations and blackmail, adding to that the physical and psychological abuse as a couple. Every weakness he had made the mistake of trusting her, she used to manipulate and humiliate him. As if all that he had suffered as a human was NOT enough for HIM. Giving her credit, she was a goddess who decided to be immune to any kind of love from her childhood, so she did not "know" to love. Probably in the background if she loved Acheron, but she was so obsessed with that love, that she did everything necessary to keep him, even hurt him.
In the current era Acheron is involved with a young prodigy (not everyone gets a PhD at 20), obstinate with proving the existence of Atlantis. After reading the first part WE KNOW THE REASONS THAT ACHERON HAS TO NOT WANT THAT THIS SECRET EXIT TO THE LIGHT. But not only him, other entities could also be exposed with this finding, so the life of Soteria is in danger and Acheron is in the dilemma of having to protect and trust who can probably destroy it. I liked at this point that the connection of Acheron and Tory was not a mere coincidence but was established by the ties of both with Julian. I think it gives a little more credibility than the fact that he happened to meet his soul mate after living eleven thousand years on earth.
"Every time I've made the mistake of trusting someone ... it's a mistake that I regret and for which I pay eternally, I'm very happy that no one has hurt you, but I have not been so lucky, okay?"
Soteria seems to be what Acheron needs. Without fear, he sees what he hides behind that facade of carefree boy: the deep distrust that has limited him to an existence of loneliness. Not knowing very well because Acheron is relying on her, obsessed with keeping her safe and unable to get away.
I think that despite my obsecion and need for a happy ending, the first part takes all my recognitions. The story covers a period of time of which there is little information, so you can imagine how thorough it had to be to establish the timeline.
The book contains some glimpses of the life of all the dark hunters that we have known so far, but rather a small part.
The end was what you want and more, after going through both and understand why this character so complex, he deserves more than anyone his happy ending, and beautiful way to have it.

Para los que no sepan, este libro es el numero 25 de la saga de los cazadores Oscuros y cuenta la historia de su líder: Acheron. La reseña esta libre de spoilers explícitos, solo detalles muy generales que probablemente si se han leído los libros y el prologo ya son de su conocimiento. Los poco que hay están debidamente señalados.
La saga en si es bastante larga y compleja. Hace años había leído la historia de Julian de macedonia, asi como la de Zarek de Moesia. Pero luego descubrí que era una serie y que la estaba leyendo en desorden. Así que me decidí a buscarlos, misión en la que fracasé porque vivo en pais donde cuesta que este tipo de libros llegue, pude encontrar unos pocos pero aun así ni en las mas grandes de las principales ciudades pude conseguirlos dado que son libros de hace casi diez años, asi que sigo esperando pr poder tenerlos todos en fisico.

este es uno de los pocos libros que he tardado demasiado tiempo en terminar, y es que la vida de Acheron como tal es fuerte, lo he comentado con algunas amigas, y ellas dicen que tuvieron que leer muy por partes debido a la magnitud de lo que había que asimilar. y tienen completa razon.
El libro está compuesto por tres partes, la primera parte cuenta en detalle la vida de Acheron en la Atlantida.
La segunda y en la que se obtienen los detalles mas escabrosos de su vida, son los diarios de Ryssa: su hermana humana y princesa de Didymos. Sin entrar mucho en detalles Ryssa abarca la vida de Acheron desde que era un recién nacido hasta sus 21 años. Es una historia espantosa, llore lo que ustedes no se imaginan porque me hizo pensar que estas cosas tan macabras aun le suceden a muchas personas en pleno siglo XXI. La vida de Acheron como niño y adolescente estuvo llena de abusos, maltratos, humillaciones y aberraciones, situaciones que lo llevaron a convertirse en un joven adulto cínico y amargado, algunas veces incapaz de ver la bondad en el mundo. A pesar de esto encontraba la manera de ayudar y tenderle la mano a quienes lo necesitaban. Era muy triste leer como lo único que podía ansiar era lo único que nunca le iban a permitir: la muerte. Al nacer, la fuerza vital de Acheron fue ligada a la de su hermano gemelo Styxx para asegurar su supervivencia, en pocas palabras: si Acheron moria, Styxx también.
Sherrylin advierte del contenido de esta primera parte, invitando al lector que se sienta incomodo con este tipo de temas a saltar y seguir adelante con la tercera parte, que es donde se cuenta la vida actual de Acheron en Nueva Orleans como líder de los cazadores oscuros. Pero, como bien sabemos, a veces es necesario conocer el pasado de algunas personas para entender su presente.
A medida que avanzaba en la lectura recordaba extractos de otros libros y se aclaraban dudas que en esa historia quedaron sin resolver.

Me obsesione. Sentía la necesidad de terminarlo y saber que había una luz al final del túnel. Estoy segura que todos los que leyeron esta historia pasaron por esa etapa en la que pensaron "En serio, ya no mas. No es posible que una persona soporte tanto en la vida y no se quiebre"
El libro es bastante largo. LARGUÍSIMO. 700 paginas. La era actual comienza casi en las página 500. Así que son 500 páginas de detalles exactos de todo lo que le sucedió a Acheron como humano.
Eso si, creo que absolutamente todos las dudas quedaron resueltas: El origen de los Caronte, quien creo a los Daimons (si han leído los libros tienen idea de quien es), el significado del símbolo de Acheron (esto me tenia INTRIGADA) y que es lo que es realmente, que abarcan sus poderes, como y por que nacieron los Dark Hunters, que exactamente fue lo que paso con los Apolitas y su relación con Artemisa.
Confirmé, a pesar de mis dudas, que su relación con Artemisa era el triste retrato de unarelación toxica, llena de manipulaciones y chantajes, sumandole a eso el abuso físico y psicológico en pareja. Cada debilidad que el había cometido el error de confiarle, ella la usaba para manipularlo y humillarlo. Como si no bastará con todo lo que había sufrido como humano POR ELLA. Dándole crédito, fue una diosa que decidió ser inmune a cualquier clase de amor desde su niñez, por lo que no "sabia" amar. Probablemente en el fondo si amara a Acheron, pero estaba tan obsesionada con ese amor, que hacia todo lo necesario por mantenerlo, incluso lastimarlo.
En la era actual Acheron se ve involucrado con una joven prodigio(no cualquiera obtiene un Doctorado a los 20), obstinada con demostrar la existencia de la Atlantida. Después de leer la primera parte SABEMOS LAS RAZONES QUE TIENE ACHERON PARA NO QUERER QUE ESTE SECRETO SALGA A LA LUZ. Pero no solo el, otros entes también podrían quedar al descubierto con este hallazgo, por lo que la vida de Soteria corre peligro y Acheron se ve en el dilema de tener que proteger y confiar en quien probablemente pueda destruirlo. Me gustó en este punto que la conexión de Acheron y Tory no fuera una mera coincidencia sino que estuviera establecida por los lazos de ambos con Julian. Me parece que da un poco mas de credibilidad que el hecho de que conociera por casualidad a su alma gemela después de vivir once mil años en la tierra.
"Cada vez que he cometido el error de confiar en alguien… es un error del que me arrepiento y por el que pago eternamente. Estoy muy feliz que nadie te haya herido, pero yo no he sido tan afortunado, ¿ vale?"
Soteria parece ser lo que Acheron necesita. Sin miedo, ve lo que el oculta tras esa fachada de chico despreocupado: la profunda desconfianza que lo ha limitado a una existencia de soledad. Sin saber muy bien porque Acheron se encuentra confiando en ella, obsesionado por mantenerla a salvo e incapaz de alejarse.
Creo que a pesar de mi obsecion y necesidad por un final feliz, la primera parte se lleva todos mis reconocimientos. La historia abarca un periodo de tiempo del cual se tiene poca información, así que se podrán imaginar lo minucioso que había que ser para establecer la linea de tiempo.
El libro contiene algunos vistazos de la vida de todos los cazadores oscuros que hemos conocido hasta ahora, pero mas bien una pequeña parte. El final fue lo que desee y mas, luego de pasar por tanto y entender los porque de este personaje tan complejo, el merece mas que nadie su final feliz, y hermosa forma de tenerlo.
