TV Journalist Quits His Job to Live on a Tiny House Boat & Cruise UK Canals Full-Time

in #living8 years ago

Some may like live full time in a RV, others may leave their house in the suburbs for a tiny house in the country. David Johns of the UK, did something entirely different. In fact, before discovering this Exploring Alternatives video on YouTube, I never knew such a boat or lifestyle existed.

Sure, we've seen the traditional boxy houseboats, and standard yachts and cabin cruisers. Even some ambitious types are building their own tiny houseboats on Pontoons.

So what on earth is this? A Narrow Boat! What on earth is a narrow boat I asked when I stumbled on this? It's actually a narrow boat that is long and skinny enough to fit through canals! It had all of the nice typical features of a long travel trailer or motorhome, but you are on water!

It even has a combo stove capable of burning coal or wood, as well as a solar system, and bathroom with cassette toilet and shower. Full galley with stove (hob) and compact refrigerator and microwave.

David quit his job as a journalist in the UK and decided to up and go and do this full time! He cruises the canals in the UK in style with all the luxuries at home. He does some freelance work and makes his money from his computer right off his boat.

Watch this video and tell me this is one of the coolest Fun and Happy Type Living videos you've seen in some time!

Cheers,
Charles
