In principle, every locator should be hidden. Regardless of whether we put it somewere unnoticed or it is used to secure our vehicle. If the locator were on top, he would not fulfill his role. Simple and logical, but where is it best to hide it? Depending on what equipment we have, there are several interesting places in the car where nobody often looks ...
Miniature locators with their own battery
This is the most popular group of locators. They have their own battery, so assembly is basically limited to putting them somewere in the car. In most cases, however, they are not hermetic and their batteries allow you to work for 1-2 days, so the best place would be to have a vehicle cabin with close access to power. Regardless of whether you choose to connect using the voltage adapter directly from the car installation, or connect the device to a power bank or use only the built-in battery - you will need a place where no one will look:
Headlining

In almost every car it is on the hooks, it is enough to pry it and take it out. Most of the small locators should fit there, and if not, calmly from this post we get to the upper headliner where we can easily slide the locator with the fingers. It is also very often that electricity is supplied to the top lamp or window heater - it is therefore possible to connect the locator permanently.Under the steering wheel
The plastic under the dashboard, above the pedals of the driver is usually open, you can glue the locator on a double-sided strong tape. It is also the closest place to the fuse box, so it will not be difficult to use electricity. Just look for a thick red wire.Under the passenger seat
The GPS Locator can be easily hidden by sliding it under the grille holding the seat sponge from underneath. this is a place where you rarely look. Most cars have electrically adjustable seats that also operate when car standstill, so it is not difficult to have constant access to power.Trunk
In cars, we can often find CD changers. They are hidden under blinds or upholstery but there is quite good access to them. There are a lot of wires, including power supply. Nobody will notice a small box with additional two - the more so that the changers in our times are no longer used.
Mounting locators (connects under the car battery)
These types of locators already require a permanent connection to the power supply, so choosing the solution is the easiest way is to connect them straight under the car battery. It is relatively simple, it is enough to screw both cables to the battery clamps.
The second place that we can recommend is a headlining lamp. There is good access because most car manufacturers allow independent bulb replacement. This place will, however, require from us a bit more knowledge than in the case of direct connection to battery. In addition, we need to check on which wires the electricity is on all the time (not only after opening the door) and soldering to the appropriate wires.
Hermetic locators with a large battery and magnet mounting
Hermetic locators are sometimes the only option we have, if for some reason, there is no access to the car's cabin. They are easy to mount and resistant to all conditions, but their size often causes us a headache. But there are a few good places in the car where you can place them without a problem!
Below we have selected places where it is easiest to hide the locator. There are more such places in various car models, but the ones we present should work in almost every case. These are mainly around the spare wheel tub, around the hook or the place at the doorsteps. Localizers, even the size of 2-3 packs of cigarettes, are perfectly hidden there and are not visible without access to the car lift.
Behind the wheel arches is usually a lot of space with flat sheet metal parts - enough to cram up even 3 large GPS's.
The place for the hook is usually a piece of the mounting frame, also a good vertical and flat place that easily attaches a strong neodymium magnet
Depending on the exhaust system, we usually also get some space from one side of the spare wheel tub. The vertical fixing will prevent it from being visible from under the car.
At some distance from the thresholds in the floor of the car you will find depressions in which you can ideally fit in a large locator.
Of course, the above places are just suggestions. Let's remember about one thing - in this sport the most important is unpredictability. The more unusual the place, the greater the chance of success.
