Gipson Hart was an ex-convict. He was out of prison and back in New York where he met Janet, whom he has searched for, for many year. He had his purpose for dating Janet Milton, not for love but to recover back all the properties his father sold to Janet’s Father, Jack Milton.
Gipson was accused of killing his father in a fight. He fought with his father over the same property of which his father denied him of acquiring because of his ineptitude in business.
Gipson was released from prison in 2000 after his mother died. Janice, her sister, reluctantly sold the remaining small house where they had grown up. When Gipson was paroled from prison during that time, he had no place to live. This almost led him to mental illness, but the doctor said he is okay that he is simply passing through depression.
Figuring out whom the buyers of his property, he decided to meet with Janet whom he feels has access to his father’s property. Janet’s Father has been sick for many years; a sickness the doctor said had no cure.
Gipson, who was known for his egoism, returned his old habits the night he met Janet in a restaurant. He claimed to be house management consultant; giving her the impression to believe that he can handle any property bestowed on him. Janet Milton never knew his mission for coming to ask him out. All she could see was a tall romantic-looking man, asking him for a date. Gipson in his appearance looks so innocent, gorgeous and romantic. No one would have thought he had a mission.
Although the very day Janet’s father saw Gipson, he said “son you look familiar, have we met before?” Gipson in his response instantly denied having met Jack Milton. Janet never imagined why his 78-year-old father made such statement; she’s feels that her father’s sickness must have affected him mentally. And of course, Jack never liked Gipson, he suspected he had a mission but couldn’t just express himself, at the same time feels the daughter might not believe him since he had no reason or prove his hatred towards Gipson.
Gipson Hart stormed into his car immediately he saw his friend Owen. Seeing him through a side mirror, Owen ran towards the car and waved him to stop. The car instantly stopped, not because Gipson wanted to, but because there was no petrol left in the car. Gipson angrily hit the staring and shakes his head in disappointment. “Hey man, why where are you hurrying too?” Owen said while peeping through the windscreen of his car he saw luggage in the back seat and some other properties. He snapped. “A...nd... what are this luggage doing in your car? It doesn’t look like you are just travelling, relocating I guess?” Gipson sighed, and alighted from his car, looked at his friend then walked passed him and entered his house to search for the remaining little fuel he left in the gallon. “Oh shit!” Gipson murmured. His friend was still standing at the spot the car stopped, staring at Gipson to figure out what his plans was, and why he decided to relocate without even telling anybody. This time, Owen was beginning to suspect Gipson because he knew what his friend was capable of doing. Perhaps he may have committed another crime.
Gipson hurriedly stormed out of his house and went close to where Owen was standing, and then he said “sorry man, I just got to leave this place this is not the right time to talk. Please, I need your car or if you have extra petrol left in your car give me bro.! You got to help your bros. Leave this place then...” Owen cuts in “not this time! Not again! You almost put me in trouble the last time you made such request before you were convicted. I really want to help you, Bro. But you got to brief me what’s going on okay. All I need is the truth and nothing but the truth”. “Please man no time for this!” Gipson snapped. Owen went to his car brought out a gallon of petrol and handed it to him. “By the way, where are you heading to?” Gipson gladly collected the petrol gallon and reluctantly he said am heading to Chicago. ‘You’re coming with me?” He hurriedly refills his car and then signalled him to join him in his car. But Owen ignored him, and went straight to his car and zoomed off.
