Livin' The Dream (Rants from the Road)

I don't really have a plan for this post. I am just going to type and see what comes out. This is an effort to get more posts out even if they don't flow as easily as they sometimes do. I don't have much internet access currently so I am going to take advantage of being in this coffee shop.

As I am entering a time that allows for a bit more freedom than I have had in a while, I begin to think about the things that are most important to me. As much as I love adventure and nature, what really gives fulfilling happiness is connecting with others and spreading the good vibes. This trip we are on in @thedodgemahal is giving me time to think about some ideas that have been percolating for a while.

In the past couple years, there has been a major shift in my life. I decided to start making some money because of cryptocurrency. I've talked before about the bad attitude I had towards fiat money and how the banksters thrive off of a system that is designed to maximize profit and control over the population.

As I have delved into Bitcoin, I have started reading some essays by Nick Szabo, who is clearly Satoshi Nakamoto, imo. The one I read most recently was Shelling Out - The Origins of Money. Like I said, I don't have a clear point or conclusion to make with post. I am just sharing what I have been thinking about and weirdly enough, recently, it's been about money & trading and love & happiness.

The benefits of using currency for trading are pretty obvious, especially if you read Szabo's essay. It seems that wherever humans are, we will begin to use money to facilitate trade. You can realize this quickly just by thinking about the benefits to be had with using money over bartering, but to get a deeper understanding, I would definitely check out the essay.

For me, these thoughts seem a bit strange compared to my focus before now. For years, I have been reading the most profound spiritual teachings I have found in the lectures of Omraam Mikael Aivanhov. I remember reading a passage a few years ago, that has been in the back of my mind ever since. I can't find the exact quote online but it was about Love being the currency of the future. Here is a similar vein of thought from Omraam though.

I Guess I'm a Dreamer

My sister recently sent me text that said, "for the dreamer I most admire" and there was link to this Ted Talk on Youtube:

I mention this now because all this information seemed to come to me synchronistically to show me about the path that human interaction is taking over time. I am glad that I am past my negative viewpoint on money and now see it as part of the evolution to a new way. This video was nice little reminder, that this way of thinking is already starting in pockets.

I still have my same hippy dream that I actually see as the inevitable future. I think it's just too painful to continue the same mistakes. There is no doubt in my mind that we will learn from our mistakes and create an abundant reality here on earth that makes some of our current behaviors utterly ridiculous.

Livin' The Dream

That's something my good friend @nastdrummer always says, if you ask what he is up to or how he has been. I started saying it too because I liked it so much. Why would you do anything else? Not that it's all peaches and cream. Often it is difficult because I have taken on responsibilities that challenge me, but I wouldn't want it any other way.

I will get to see my good friend soon, as I have set @thedodgemahal on a path to his door. I've been saying for years that I will migrate that way. When I finished college I spent 10 days hiking in the Sierra Nevadas and have been saying that ever since.

What Is Your Dream?

Now, I am remembering a quote from The Hawk. With excitement in his voice and a twinkle in his eye, he said - "If you don't have a dream in your pocket, RUN, don't walk, and get you one." After he retired, he walked across all 50 states and then all the continents except for Antartica. His website is full of little nuggets of wisdom from his walking meditations.

I have a dream of a time when we all begin to live our dreams. When we begin to deeply connect our hearts and minds to our work. We will begin to seek work, not pleasure and in that work we will find our greatest happiness in our compassion towards each other!

I know these thoughts are all over the place, but there is some connection in my mind at least. I'd love to hear your thoughts if any of my meanderings sparked anything.

I resonate on that frequency. Dreamers gonna dream bro.

Best post ever. Actually, I don't know, I'm not keeping track, but it looks like "Just typing" works well for you!

I literally typed out "as inspired by @whatsup" in parenthesis, but it was a bit wonky so I deleted it. It was fun though and helpful as a quick mind dump! It's cool to get such a nice response and definitely a good way to let the writing flow! Thanks for the inspiration and the comment!

Livin' the dream!

The only way I know how...

I have a dream of a time when we all begin to live our dreams. When we begin to deeply connect our hearts and minds to our work. We will begin to seek work, not pleasure and in that work we will find our greatest happiness in our compassion towards each other!
