What made me draw the conclusion that love is not enough?
Times proves everything. In science we defined 'time' as that which is distinguishable with reference to 'before' and 'after'. The problem has never been with the love but the commitment that comes with it. I said love is not enough not because it is incomplete but because it has been misused,abused and hence the weight is only felt in the statement and not in the action.
To some, love can be a feeling and channelled to several persons at the same time(multiple dating). That is not love, it is basically what I call emotional recklessness. The affection that comes with genuine love can't be shared but directed to the specific person. It is like a car remote key that is designed for a particular vehicle. Such key can't be used to operate another. But what we see today is like a television remote control that can operate several television set of the product.
Deciding who to marry should not rise and fall in the rhetorics of 'I love u' because u never can tell which u are walking into. There is a place of seeking the opinion of your maker(God), his/her wealth should not be the focus, all that glitters is not gold.
A spiritual landmark had to be set. U don't have to hear a voices that say marry or not but rather check your heart if u find peace. In the realm of the spirit peace signifies God's approval to a request. It is a positive outcome.
So many that rushed into marriage are already regretting. They saw love at d stage of dating but now in marriage battering has pushed love aside. There is no perfect marriage I agree, but there is a perfect God, He alone can give you a perfect home.
Sometimes love is not enough, but it must be the foundation, the cornerstone - but not the complete structure, it is much too pliable, too yielding.
