RE: We give more importance to things then people

in #lovelast month

Claiming that millennials neglect their parents for money or material alone is not entirely reflective of the whole truth. Maybe their parents abuse them when they were younger or never spend quality time to care for them. Now that they are angry adults with money so they feel their parents deserve to be neglected. My parents are the lucky ones of the extreme end because if they migrated to Western countries, they could get sued for child neglect. It's generational difference. My peers have professionals as parents that cherish them even before they were born. They got a head start at everything. My siblings and I got carefree dysfunctional parents who got married to fit into society's model of the ideal life.

Oh my dear, I absolutely agree with you, it's not just a one way straight forward issue which comes from the children side, it also depends on the upbringing of the child. There are many parents who behave selfish in their younger days and neglect their children and then in old age complain about their children not taking care of them. But at large nowadays I do observe that children get disconnected from their parents even if they have been well raised.
Yes there is no one side to blame here, it is all the environment that one goes through.
