Logan's Run was a template. "Freedom Cities" is the propaganda term for hyper-controlled data driven "open air" prisons that Thiel (and others) are preparing to rule, which will replace our modern day "open cities" where you are free to travel most places and live most places without subscriptions or allegiance to a corporate governor -- one who calls all the shots, even negating state laws.
-- But maybe, since many cities are governed in secret by blackmail and secret societies, nothing really changes: only the pattern of enforcement is more overtly displayed as brutal, uncaring architected "paywall"-esque "freedom points". You get to live, love and laugh so long as you bend the knee to the Apple Headquarters that runs water, power and roads in your town....

If you've seen Apple's circular wheel of hell, then you'll likely recognize other "Freedom City" model cities built as techno-Disneylands for human beings. I've heard that secrecy is extremely valued in such "freedom cities" prototypes like Nike and Apple; one word overheard by a "watchful" eye will lead to expulsion from the herd, or worse, like an unfortunate car accident.
Things will get worse before they get better. Decentralization of the means of production is just beginning, but it is the cutting edge of tech advance across every field of industry. Sybaritic wealth and power is parasitic, depending on parasitizing collective production that requires massive capital investments. But decentralized means of production often are able to produce modern goods and services on a kitchen table top and can be purchased for lunch money, not requiring massive capitalization. It also eliminates parasitic losses, and that eliminates overlords with immense wealth and power.
