I am a serial killer of Orchids. No matter how hard I try, despite my best I murder every single one that has the misfortune of living in my home. I just don't have the right environment and skills to make them flourish.
It's just not my forte.
Thankfully these beauties were reared with the expert TLC of professionals at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Kandy, Sri Lanka. My husband and I wandered into the greenhouse where they were kept and my god was it a sight. The smell was sweet, light and refreshing like a cool mountain breeze.
It occurred to me the reason my orchids always were neglected falling apart and committing suicide dying was because my house was not nearly humid or warm enough. These plants were happy... you can tell by how vibrant those petals are.
