International Left Hand Path Conference

It's been a long time since I've posted here and I have a lot to share with all of you. I'm going to try and bring you all up to date by sharing some of the things I've been working on lately in a series of posts over the next couple weeks.

Today I'd like to tell you about a recent event that I produced. It was an international conference featuring presentations by modern occultists and philosophers that lean towards "the left hand path" which explores the darker side of things. I call this event Flambeau Noir, which means "Black Torch" in French. The event featured some incredible guest speakers who donated their time and knowledge to the community through their presentations.

I produced the first international Left Hand Path conference back in 2012 in Toronto, Canada. I co-hosted another conference in 2014 in Indianapolis, Indiana USA and then I co-produced conferences in Ottawa, Canada in 2017 and in Portland, Oregon USA in 2018. Every one of my former co-hosts have gone on to produce their own independent events using a similar model.

My intention behind starting this movement of non-sectarian Left Hand Path occult conferences was to get people from different (but often related) traditions together, sharing knowledge with one another and building bridges. In the past occult conferences were typically limited to members of a specific organization/sect and so you ended up with isolated silos of knowledge. Flambeau Noir aims to get these people collaborating, cross-pollinating and creating a stronger unity among those who explore the hidden side of things.

In the past these events were held in person, but due to the global pandemic and the resulting travel restrictions we currently face this type of event would no longer be possible or safe to produce. Therefore in 2021 the Flambeau Noir conference was held in Cyberspace for the first time. In addition, since the expense in producing this type of event were minimal I decided to make it free and open to the public!

The loose theme of this year's event was "The Waking Dream" and many of the presentations touched on this theme in some way. The weekend kicked off on the evening of Friday January 29th with a relatively casual livestream by myself (Jeremy Crow) introducing this theme:

Saturday afternoon we resumed with our first formal presentation, a pre-recorded video essay by Etu Malku on The Art of the Magical Trance.

This was followed by the first livestream of the day with SMQ giving a presentation he called, "Celestial Political Theater." This is followed by a live question and answer period.

Next up we had a presentation by S. Connolly on "Writing Your Reality." This was also a livestread and included a Q&A after the formal lecture.

Next we had a pre-recorded presentation by Maggie Moon who couldn't be present live due to a scheduling conflict but was able to participate in this way. We are pleased to see her give a talk on Altering Reality with Magick.

Rounding out this series of guides on ways to alter reality we had Orlee Stewart giving a talk on How to Transform Reality with Praeternatural Entities. This was live and features a Q&A.

Finally, the last livestream presentation of the day with Paul Fredric who spoke in-depth on The Nebu Generator: A Pharonic Formula for Wealth Creation. This one features an extended question and answer period as we were more flexible with our end time.

The final day of talks began with a livestream presentation by Sorsha Runarius titled, Echoes from the Void: The Magick of the Abyss. Again, this included a live Q&A.

Next up I had the pleasure of talking to Zach Black founder of Satanic International Network in a more casual discussion format. We tackled some of the hot topics that often come up within Satanism and the current state of the Left Hand Path community.

For the next livestream prolific Luciferian author Michael W. Ford gave a fascinating and in-depth talk on Ahrimanic Yoga as the Starting Point in Foundations of Magick. This was followed by a Q&A session.

And for our final live presentation of the conference we were delighted to have Savannah from Black Witch Coven tell us about her perspective on Practicing Witchcraft as a Luciferian. This also included a live Q&A.

After a short break Orlee Stewart, Sorsha Runarius and myself (Jeremy Crow) came together for a final, casual panel discussion on livestream as a sort of wrap-up afterparty. We discuss some of the things we enjoyed the most about the event and the unstated techno-occult secondary theme of the conference this year along with other various random topics.

BONUS PRESENTATION

In addition to the scheduled presentations above, we also had a virtual Art Exhibit which existed in a 3D rendered virtual art gallery that visitors could navigate through online. In essence, they could walk around the gallery and view the various art pieces. The Art Director for this project was Răzvan Anton. He uploaded a presentation that talks a bit about the Flambeau Noir exhibit in general and then gets into detail about the pieces of art that Anton himself submitted to the gallery. This ties into some of the themes of the overall event itself.
