FRANKENSTEIN : THE LATEST THREAT TO ANDROID DEVICES .

in #malware6 years ago

As the technology is advancing day by day making life easier in infinite number of ways. It's more of a boon than a bane to the society. But some times it brings something terrible and "Frankenstein" is the latest one. It's a mysterious malware that's stalks android phones in multiple ways. Malware called Mystery bot, has been described as a "Frankenstein" creation.
It fabricates together the bits of trojans, ransomware and keyloggers to
create a malignant threat to attack android devices.
Frankenstein is first discovered by the research team from "Threat Fabric". It takes over your smartphone or tablet in following ways:
‌ By stealing data such as emails and contact info.
‌ It can hoover up passwords by overlaying apps with fake login pages and by tracking touch screen gestures.
‌ It can lock up your files in a password protected zip file to hold them for ransom.
It even works on recent versions of Android 7 (nougat) and 8(oreo). You can't keep your device safe even after upgrading software. Thus to keep it safe the only guarantee is that you
must download the apps from official app store and be sure to pay attention to permissions demanded by an app.

So, be careful and play safe!

Nice post.. But it is really very difficult to manage permissions for each downloaded app .. and many apps now a days requires so many permissions without any reasons ..

and if you stop or disable any permission , they stop functioning ....
