Fairy Tail
Summary
Fairy Tail is a manga that plays it of in a medieval-like place where people have magic powers that get stronger by feelings. Dragons, demons, evil villains and mage guilds, as well as a magic council, are things that do exists in this universe. Dive into an adventure with Team Natsu and Fairy Tail and follow their adventures and heavy past.
Plot
Characters:
Natsu Dragneel your typical OP character. I don't like him very much. He's the main protagonist of the story and also the son of Igneel a dragon and the brother of Zeref. (The Voldemort of this world.) His main catchphrase: I am all fired up and like his name does suggest he does have the powers of a fire dragon slayer and the second element electrical powers and the powers of feeling. This means he uses magic based on fire. He's your typical main character that doesn't think much and pretty much wins every fight with saying I do this for my friends even though he totally is an asshole toward them and does a lot of selfish acts. He eats fire and also is a half demon. His development in the manga is very minor and his character stay's pretty much the same through the entire series..
Lucy the female main protagonist. Just like most female characters she gets to be the damsel in distress and is used for fanservice and shipping a couple of times. However, I still think she is cool. She is also loving toward her spirts. Since she is a celestial spirit mage. She uses that magic. Summoning others and change her clothes based on them. She has some serious character development through the series and can actually fight even when she gets kidnapped she doesn't wait she actually will try and escape.
Happy the exceed. (The underdog of the series)
He's a flying blue cat-like character that comes from an egg. Despite his only magic power is having flight ability's and eating fish very fast. He's actually pretty usefully and courageous. He saved an entire village from an explosion and even has his own spin-off series. His CATphrase is aye sir. He also has a fun side to him and likes to tease his teammates.
Wendy Marvel.
Your typical loli in the series. Just like Natsu she also has dragon slayer magic but, then her element is the wind. She is a supportive and a little bit clumsy character but, strong nevertheless. Her character development throughout the series is from going to just support trough actually being able to fight and actually having a goal of becoming a great guild member.
Gray Fullbuster.
Your second character besides Lucy that is there to get half/full naked and get stalked by his love interest. He's an ice devil slayer mage. And is like the Saske of this series but unlike Saske he actually stays in the team. He got raised by a great ice mage named Ul together with Lyon and learned the magic from her. His father got reincarnated as a zombie and it got killed by his love interested.
Erza Scarlet.
My favourite character untiles the last arc where it got revealed she was the baby of a dragon and is now a Mary Sue. I used to love her because she was just a normal woman with Requip magic that dependent onto her bravery and friends instead of just being born OP. Her past story is heavy and she has a love story going on with her past abuser who is now trying to make up.
Charla
Also, an Exceed that can change to a girl form. She is like the main guardian of Wendy and acts just like it. just like Happy she also has wings but, she is way stronger them him. She gets visions of the future and can attack with white moon kicks and punches.
Strengths of the Manga.
The strengths of the manga are that there are so many characters into Fairy Tail that you can relate with. The story itself is mostly lighthearted and almost all characters get a happy ending and only a few characters die in the series that aren't main. It also doesn't matter where in the manga you start since the arcs aren't that complicated.
Things to Improve On
Side character gets used mostly for showing the OP villain they beat in the next round:
Having your side character getting that aren't in the guild getting beat up the whole time only to make the villains look more appealing to get's pretty boring.
Main character fights.
Having your main character alway's winning our just win after one lost fight is so predictable. Let them lose a few times and set the stakes higher. Or have some variations in the fight other than just use magic and punch/kick/roar and be OP.
More character developments for Natsu and stick with it.
Fewer villains with something anti-magic power.
Less fanservice and sacrificing your story for a few gags and your main character.
Conclusion:
It's a nice story to read if you like companionship and like quick easy fights and fanservice and don't mind the ongoing shipping wars in the fandoms.
