A month later, another one for our record books

Obligatory screencap or it never happened...

Yes, you saw that right (once again).

Last month, entry #409 in the Marigot NotebookMN #407 was our all-time high on the old Steemit, garnering 294. To recap from the latter: set a record for most votes in the Hive era of this Captain's Aground feed. (In case you can't see the image: 345 all told, plus two comments from @hivebuzz and @QSounds, and US$2.57 in revenue.) Pre-fork, last September,

Back when this feed was on Google+, my all-time record for +1's on any one post hovered close to 100. (That milestone, showcased in the Plus' Anime community, dealt with fan art from Studio Ghibli's The Cat Returns.) Otherwise, I was really lucky to garner up to a dozen of them on my regular non-Community, non-Collection fare; the busiest it got was on my Animal Lovers relays.

Even better: We're now back to composing drafts on Ecency, a bug fix or two later. But if another upgrade washes out our queue unannounced...well, there's always a JotterPad backup.

Since last we met, everything concerning current and future volumes of Reflections--KLPC's series of animated visual albums--has taken up much of my off-Hive time. So much so, I almost missed our next (and long-awaited) milestone! (Proof in the day counter below.) Well, since we have little time to waste by now and Part 1 of RF03 (the next Reflections volume by production code) is slated for tomorrow night...

  • Looks like KLPC's growing catalogue is in for a big shake-up, starting later this afternoon--for which you can thank Musicolet's file browser. (Retiring Vanilla Player for all of this after press time.) At this writing, their Upcomers subcollection has 569 tracks--not only what showed up in RF02, but also what will appear in future installments (including several dozen originally meant for their now-cancelled Spring Break/Record Store Day outings and Bahamian leg of the re.BUILD charity concerts). While the slate for any given current volume will remain as part of the main "Collection", the remainder will be spun off into four brand-new components in the parent "Adanson" trove:
    • The "Reflections Queue" (subdivided into "Volumes" and "Leftovers")
    • The "Lottery" pool (selections from the pre-AVA backlog since February 2019, chosen by randomiser and sorted by month)
    • The "Scrap Heap" (for selections that haven't quite worked out for KLPC)
    • "Raws" (which the Panhandle team uses to extract tunes from full-album WAVs on their servers, and sometimes shortened edits of individual tracks)
  • Speaking of KLPC'S collection: Despite several days' lag a while ago, everything featured in the first two volumes has been accounted for in our Excel inventory overview--a little above 10% of the whole package. But that may not be enough, for I plan to launch a semantic Adanson Jukebox site on Referata or ByetHost any week from now. (Again, a lot of tunes = a lot of key changes.)
    • Not to mention we're closing in on 16,000 scrobbles on LFM, thanks to this new programme. (Still, 20,000 is out of our reach until next February, thanks to a five-month gap during which Adanson and Autrison started cutting their losses at Briarwood. Easier done than said for our explr.fm chances come RF04 or a bit later; one territory in the Pacific remains up for grabs as we fill in all 210. Best we ask r/LastFM for help on that in about an hour.)
  • Speaking of music, about time I looked into composing the CC0/Kopimi score fragment I always wanted to get going on Musescore. (For which you can thank a melody that came to me in a dream, a month or so ago.)
  • As for Unspooled #1: Well, looks like we're throwing in the towel on the long, long wait for words #1 through 1,000--because Veritas, our gift-map project, hasn't gotten any closer to that crucial step #200. (Starting anew, all over again--and with a brand-new approach for the outer realms of our DEM--next week.) Better to rush out the first segment of our first draft, and e-mail it to that upstate New York aunt of mine--sometime during Saturday. (With OED.com's "Recent entries" sampler--and A.W.A.D. and OneLook's Words of the Day--by our side.) Reply or not, I'll redeem our next Notebook by revealing the very first line of the whole ordeal; in the next several weeks, a re-pitch at Writer Sanctum, and a relay of said first-draft opener across Hive, Inkbunny, plus a third outlet I've yet to make up my mind on. (Perhaps a heretofore undiscovered subreddit? Of course, with anything resembling a schedule all but dishevelled where I am right now...)

Finally, something to turn the lights back on at our old wiki host--as long as it remains! (Now can I watch my New Year's movies next weekend?)

In our next (milestone) entry, a behind-the-scenes rundown of those first two volumes, plus that first line and a couple more fan pics of Sam. Till then, please take care, stay connected, wipe everything down...and God bless.

All of us, and Mr. Floyd's family.
